So they release a fancy 100 year model but make it the “poverty spec” with rubbish chuck no adjustable light and less drilling capacity? Youd think the “100 year” model would be the best of the best ?

Sometimes you do tbh lol. It has a lot of speed in it for an impact driver but once you get the hang of it, it’s a very nice driver🍺 Not a very big Makita fan but they do still make some nice products… their mod boxes still kinda suck tho lol

Putting them through their paces would of been a much better video What you’ve got to understand dewalt have sold so many different types of impact drivers with claims of superiority and failed to impress ,that you should of done a few different types of fasteners and fixings to prove the new impact is much better

Very helpful review, thank you. I'm exactly considering these two models. The 100 attracts me more because it's much newer and compact, but I don't like the idea of the plastic-coated chuck. Which of the two models would you recommend for home/DIY use?
@zsolttoth90384 ай бұрын
This is my dilemma as well, most of the websites where I've been looking at these two they have almost the exact same price, however the DCD796 always only comes with 2 2 Ah batteries, where the DCD100 comes with 2 5 Ah batteries.
@michelelodi37744 ай бұрын
@@zsolttoth9038 hi, the dvd796 also comes with 5mAh batteries. Search for the model DCD796P2-QW
@joakimhaaland12033 ай бұрын
@@zsolttoth9038 I'm a carpenter and I have both - I use the DCD100 because it's "new and fun", but argueably the 796 feels better and higher quality and if I had to choose one to buy, i'd go with the 796.
@SentinelSays3 ай бұрын
Honestly I’d go for the DCD100 for your use case. Both are solid choices but the 100 is lighter and easier to handle, the plastic chuck isn’t the end of the world and some of my Dewalts that I use professionally have plastic chucks which have been just as reliable as metal. It’s also really good value. The 796 might be overkill if you’re not using it as much as a pro would, so that’s something to think about.

I'm used to larger, corded routers kzbin.infoUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z so this was a different experience for me. Basically, this is an incredibly sweet machine, fits well in the hand, etc. It has slightly less power than I'm used to, but that's understandable. Maneuvering freehand takes some practice. These days, it's especially nice to be able to avoid power cords. This is above the level of a hobbyist but below a pro level.
