Idc what anyone says, if they go generation to generation, look at rules over different eras and do the correct math, Gordon IS and always will be the greatest Nascar driver of all time.

Why did people hate on this plate package? It actually raced pretty well at Talladega.

Years from today when 79 stock car races have been run here we’ll remember the name RICKY RUDD winner of the Inaugural Brickyard 400!

Traveled there from Kansas for my first and only race, and we had good seats in turn 1 (Terry Labonte actually stopped right in front of where we were sitting when he wrecked). Got to see family, go to the events, met a lot of drivers, got autographs, pictures, went to the museum, and see my favorite driver win.

He won the first one, in. 1994. 20 years later, he wins the 21st. Checkered flag in the Brickyard 400, to Jeff Gordon.

True, theres about 30 people on the track i would bother before I went after Ricky Rudd. NASCAR's ironman. He started nearly 800 races in a row.

how frustrating it must have been for ford owners that year. nascar chopped the monte carlo up to give the thunderbirds the advantage and gordon still outdone them

3:54 Gordon refers to the eight cars Coke sponsored through its short-lived C2 brand. They got eight cars, and the Pepsi driver still beat them.

God, i remember going to the busch race that year at dover. Very first nascar race ever, you want to talk about being hooked, i still remember the details, the smells, the sounds, the speed you could see with your own 2 eyes. Tv doesnt do this sport justice.

Overall, Jeff won back-to-back races 21 times in his career. After this, he did it once in 2003 (Martinsville 2-Atlanta 2), twice in 2004 (Talladega 1-Auto Club and Sonoma-Daytona 2), and twice in 2007 (Phoenix 1-Talladega 1 and Talladega 2-Charlotte 2).
