Hi, If both provide enough flow then the HMS750 is fine. If however you want to use a pressurized buffer tank to reduce how often the pump cycles then you need to go for the HMS1500 as it has that functionality. Also you will be able to run a much larger irrigation system on the HMS1500 than the HMS750.

Check if the impeller at the back is turning, also check if the sensing tab is in place over the impeller on the outside of the unit.

Very similar, they are from the same group of companies, we used to have the scala 2 but we prefer the dab. Overall they are very nice pumps but there are better value for money options.

You are correct but, if you go up in mineral content say to over 400ppm you get a longer life span from the membrane if you can give it more flow to flush it. Assuming you don't go too high flow and you loose pressure behind the membrane.

@@plumwiz-m7s Unfortunately, that isn't the easiest one to answer as it will depend on the mineral content of the water. In the test we did we got about 600L from the cartridge but if it is a lower mineral content you should get a lot more. If it is a higher mineral content you will want to reduce the mineral content with Reverse Osmosis first as this will give your resin a significantly longer life.

I would shut it down and check if there is any air coming out if you open it again. If not, then make sure there isn't a restriction on the suction side that is resulting in the pump cavitating.

I’m wanted to do a quick note and add that, yes, these pumps are amazing. I live off grid and I’ve never seen a more power efficient pump or a quieter one. But living off grid, you need stuff to WORK. Reading all the comments on these DAB videos and on the forums made me realize how everyone has the same problems and dab doesn’t care. I understand having to pay for replacement parts, but I’m not paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars, and tearing literally every panel off the pump, disconnecting all the lines, draining it, and everything, just to replace a part on their broken “prototype”. This isn’t a consumer grade product. It’s a fancy prototype that you have to work on all the time

Wow, not nice to hear that you have been struggling that much with your pump. Are you based in south africa as then we can see if we can put you in touch with one of their better technicians as you should not be struggling like that with the pump.

Hi, after a dry run open the priming screw until water comes out then close it. Since it is a multistage pump you othen don't get all the air in the first go. So then turn on the pump and run a few liters through, then open the priming screw a bit again when the pump has stopped. If you are getting air and water out keep it open a bit till it is just water. Then repeat. We have had that you need to do this two or 3 times on this and the other multi stage pumps.

If it is a upvc ball valve a 20mm should fit over a 20mm pvc pipe.

That doesn't sound right, is the valve head giving any errors? Also check if the valve in the brine tank isn't stuck in a closed position.

Hi, you gain the most if you have a VSD pump that you can set the turn on and turn off point with a tank. Something like the hms1500 works really well for this. If you can set for example a target pressure of 4.5bar and a turn on pressure of 2bar it would benefit from a tank. Not all pumps can be set like this though, for example the DAB Esybox doesn't allow you to set more than a 1bar pressure difference this a tank doesn't make sense with it.

Hi, difficult to say from that information but I would check the non return valve at the back and make sure it is clean and moves easily. The pressure buffer tank has a rubber bladder in it could also be that. There isn't much you can do about the tank so I would first check the non return.

They will have to be set to different times as while one is busy the water supply will be cut off.

Maybe have a bypass with a check valve going around the pump to the outlet, then set your restart pressure to just below the static pressure from the source
