Hi there, I have a solar water pump (180w, 12v) very similar to yours in design. I currently have no pressure tank, but i have a pressure gauge and when everything is closed and the pump is running it marks about 24psi (1.7 bars). My question is, if buy a pressure tank either a 3L or a 24L capacity, the pump will be pushing pressure to the tank upto 24psi or 1.7bars or gradually it will push even higher? say 30 or 40psi (about 2 or 3 bars). Thanks in advance.
@FilterShopZa17 күн бұрын
Hi, Basically when the tank is 100% full it will be at 1.7bar. Then as you use water from the tank it will drop in pressure until the pump turns on again. You would want the tanks air pressure set to just below the pressure where your pump turns back on again. say for example if your pump turns on at 0.5bar then pump the tank to 0.4bar.
@ronaldd.135517 күн бұрын
@@FilterShopZa Hi, thanks for your reply. Let me add some details. I have a pressure switch set at 30psi cut off and 10psi cut in, BUT, my pump without a tank pushes upto 24psi, I dont want to set it less than 30 psi because it will not start unless it's near 0 psi. My question is: Will I be able to build 30psi or even more with a tank like yours (wether it's tiny or medium size)?

Thanks a lot for the incredible review with details of the manometer. When opening the faucet with a 3 bar target it goes down to 1 bar until it picks up again after a couple of secods, Is there any way to avoid this? I have a water softener that needs a minimum pressure of 2.5 bar to operate and I wouldn't like to have this drop everytime I open a faucet.
@FilterShopZa29 күн бұрын
Hi, Is it on a Mini3 that your having the problem? It sounds like the pressure loss is to quick for it to respond. The only practical option is to add a pressurized buffer tank to give it more time. I would think ideally a 60L tank, but something as small as a 24L could work.

Like any device with a lot of electronics, it is very susceptible in regions with electrical voltage variations, even slight ones, and sudden power outages. It must have a voltage regulator nearby. Mine, purchased recently, failed after a month and a half and I am still waiting for the replacement promised by DAB and its distributor. The protections for voltage changes that the device includes are not sufficient. In the rest, it fulfills what was promised.

This truly is an amazing pump. I installed one under my cabin and honestly dint have high hopes at the time. I unboxed it. Hooked it up. And it’s been issue free for 5 years. I guess it even has some sort of antifreeze device? I almost forgot about it and noticed it the other day when I was under there. On the back is has a plug with an oil can on it. I’m I suppose to be oily or changing the oil in this?

Hi, good to here it has been working well. It is a non return valve at the back, but it is probably a good idea to clean it after 5 years.

I have been running one of these in my cabin for I think 5 years now. I was so skeptical when I was buying this. I have Cory water but it’s (probably the way the line is ran) I have had zero issues. I hooked it up that first day and literally forgot about it. I just recently thought about it when I was under the cabin and seen it. There is a port on the back that has an oil can logo?? Am I suppose to be oiling this thing? I honestly dint expect it to work. And if it did to even last. So that day I hooked it up I assumed it be a temporary thing so I wasn’t really paying attention to the instructions. I never even messed with the settings lol. How long do these typically last? If mine broke today I’d still be highly impressed with its performance and durability
@FilterShopZa11 күн бұрын
Hi, the part at the back is a non return valve so you can clean it but it shouldn't need regular servicing. A big part of the lifespan will be water quality dependent. Assuming it isn't abused i would expect about 10 years.

Thanks for the great video, keep it up. Very impressive pump. I moved into a house with one of these installed with a freshwater system. When switching on, it will pump at its set pressure for a few seconds, then switches off, turns back on after pressure drops, switches back on towards set pressure for a few seconds, switches off, and so it goes. I see no setting to fix this. It's like a pressure switch that switches off the flow when a certain pressure is opbatained. Any tips please?
@FilterShopZa2 ай бұрын
Hi, It has a very small buffer tank so it does cycle a lot. Are you finding that it keeps turning on even though you don't have anything using water in the house? If that is the case, it could be that the non return valve is leaking or that you have a small leak in the house that is constantly using a little bit of water.
@renierjoubert91762 ай бұрын
Would you recommend this over the klorman in line chlorinator? For 2x 5000l tanks, would it then require 2?
@FilterShopZa2 ай бұрын
It depends on the situation. If it is a case where you constantly need to dose chlorine then the In-Line unit is better. Where this one is nice is if you only need to dose a small amount or like in the case in the video where you only want to dose if the tank fills up with rain water.

My mini box will run, obtain pressure, then it’ll max rpm and you can hear it’s not grabbing and pumping water till it dry runs. As soon as it alarms and dry runs I just hit the two buttons and it resets and bam, starts pumping water again. What could be the issue? It’s struggling to hold pressure. Hi we're looking for a whole house pump for 5 bathrooms I was wondering how this might compare to the HMS1500 in your opinion?
@FilterShopZa2 ай бұрын
Hi, Both are very good. The Esybox is quieter but it can't get much use out of a pressurized buffer tank so it always cycles. I went for the HMS1500 specifically because I had a 150L buffer tank and with it i could dramatically reduce the pumps cycling. If you haven't got things that frequently will pull a small amount of water, like for example a fridge connected to the mains with an icemaker or a Under Counter RO System. Then i would go for the Esybox, if you do have them then i would go for the HMS1500 with a buffer tank.

That sounds like a faulty non-return valve. If you have corrosive water it could be rust from the pump that is making it not seal.
