10 acre open field in rural North Carolina. Thinking about some goats in a 3-acre paddock. My beehives will also be an attractive nuisance for bear and raccoon. My neighbor who takes the hay might put 5 cows in the 10 acres in addition to any goats. Considering one livestock guardian dog and a companion/house dog. I expect cats would be part of the equation. What kind of animal would work best in Central North Carolina where the coyote attacks might be less frequent than out west or in the mountains? What are the concerns around visiting humans? ... What kind of fencing and signage would be required? Is there any need for insurance?

We don't have any chickens at the moment due to a bear killing them all but will soon.
