So much talent seen here. Not so much Claude's hairstylist mind you. I love these performers. Each one a super performer, and the band was so tight. I saw them live numerous times, initially in a university lecture hall, and ultimately in the National Art Center in Ottawa. Apparently they were huge in Japan as well. Great music, but I miss not being able to go to a concert of theirs.

Amazing Talent, each performer. Here's my story. Many years ago while on a ski trip in Banff Alberta, I heard on the local radio station that the Nylons were doing a live show in Calgary, just an hour a way. So, off we went, in our rental car and saw a great show. At the end of our ski trip, I saw The Nylons in the Calgary airport. Wouldn't it be wild if they were on the same flight as us... and they were indeed. Being minor celebrities, I was the only one who recognized them on the plane. The moment the "Fasten Seat Belt" sign went off, I zoomed up to them and got all of their autographs. It was particularly weird because no one around us knew why I was paying them any attention. Great music, great concerts. I think I saw them about 10 times!

Nice story. I lived & worked in Banff for a year, but wages were only $3/hr so wouldn’t have been able to attend that then. I was very much aware of them by then, but yeah was the working poor. Def had their cassettes in the 80’s! Was nice to swap them out for cds in the mid-90’s.

I saw The Nylons with different variations in membership over the years. My favourite was when they played acapella, no mic’s in a church in downtown Victoria. I was also in Sidney BC for their last tour performance in Nov 2017. It saddens me to know that radio stns downsized so much, with such a tiny repertoire of one genre, that they wouldn’t play requests for them when I called in on requests nights. Canadian radio stns!! SOAB!!! Of course that would have affected Nylons livelihood as well. So I think mainly in their last years they couldn’t count on it to make a living, and chose to sing at their favourite venues on the goodbye tour. On their terms. It’s unfortunate that a young Nylon (Tyrone Gabriel) had been seriously ill by that time and probably could’ve used more money on a bigger tour. He passed away- barely into 2022. Hell, I would run a tshirt and cds table for them for free if I’d known and reached out to their mgmt. My favourite album was Four On The Floor. Hardcore fan that I was, I had to hunt down the Fabric Of Life cd that had only been available to order in Michigan I think it was.

The best Nylons lineup. Great voices that meld and Marc's incredible lead vocals. Once and forever Nylons.

This was the first song I heard from the Nylons. Went right in the store to buy the album. Didn't realize there was no musical accomplishment. Didn't miss it. They were awesome.

The first time I saw the Nylons was at University of Waterloo. I had dinner plans with friends and they had tickets so invited me along. I believe the performance was recorded that night by the CBC for later transmission. I was instantly a fan, they had a wonderful connection with their audience who learned the history of their every song as it was introduced. Such wonderful talents taken far too soon.

Great rendition of this classic! The 80s was a popular decade for acapella groups! Sadly, I believe the only one alive from this line-up is the guy who sings high falsetto.

I remember their show at the Bathurst Theatre (circa 1981-3) when Paul introduced this song and there was a subtle but gaspy reaction from the audience when he said "him" and Paul turned and said "yes". An interesting poignant moment for gay acceptance in TO.

Yeah, first time I saw these guys was at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. (The first of many) . Such an intimate concert. And so funny. These guys would not stop cracking jokes. To the point where their sound guy yelled at them to hurry up because they were doing a second show right after ours. I'm so glad I was at that show.
