This is fantastic - I don't remember this when it first came out - what a treat to have so many episodes lined up to watch! This has given me more laughs in one episode than in a string of so called modern 'comedies'. And of course, no need for bad language, smut, sexual references or tedious political point scoring.

Wodehouse made the Oldest Member seem very old, but this Oldest Member doesn't seem very old.

Oh my! I still quote dialogue from this! I had no idea this was the first episode. My father made an audio recording of this episode in the early 1980s when it was re-broadcast on ABC in Australia. Next month, it will be a year since dad died, I was watching this with very happy tears. How wonderful to see it again after all this time. Thank you so much for posting.

Such a brilliant series, best bit of acting Fry and Laurie have ever done, imho.

There wasn't golf at the Twing sports day. Fry and Laurie probably know what a dog's breakfast these cobbled together stories are. They can't be ashamed of butchering PG's stories or they wouldn't do them. I guess it's the money. It's sure not art.

Quite extra-ordinary. Even the "bottle party?" sequence was funny. I was not aware of Alderton until now and I am a fan.

Had me rolling on the floor. The dramatization is possibly in this case more enjoyable than reading the novel. 👍

These Jeeves and Wooster stories are not nearly as well done as the Wodehouse Playhouse series starring John Alderton and sometimes his wife, Pauline Collins, who is far more funny and well-cast than any of the other female leads who are washed out with no oomph. Some of the casting in the Jeeves and Wooster stories is so bad it's puzzling how the person who got the job got the job. That person chose a tall, frozen-faced Madeline when PG's Madeline was soppy and droopy. So much of the casting in the Jeeves and Wooster series was astonishingly bad. PG's Aunt Agatha was skinny and beaky-nosed. In the series she's dumpy. Also, the stitching together of two of PG's stories in Jeeves and Wooster is badly done. I don’t think that PG’s Uncle George looked like the Uncle George here. With hundreds of English character actors there is no reason for such bad casting. PG's Bingo looks nothing like this Bingo. And Myrtle wasn't in this story at all. I'm not going to watch more of this. The people who did the Mulliner stories did far better. KZbin is going to cancel all your stuff as soon as someone rats on you. Can you upload them to another, less picky site? I guess my comment may influence the algorithm. Take my comment down if you like.

Rightly said!! I personally dislike the hodgepodge of Wodehouse Stories that is Jeeves and Wooster. Ex: Ep1: Bertie's intro is not well done. They're portraying him as if he's retarded!! Same with other characters. They've killed the essential nature of many I posted it because I wanted to cover all of Wodehouse TV (even if bad) Wodehouse Playhouse is miles apart in originality as well as performances (esp by Alderton-Collins) Regarding copywrite...dont worry about that (for now). The Copywrite owner (ITV) is letting me publish content as long as they keep all the ad revenues. Works for everyone I guess.

I only like Pauline Collins. And she does a perfect, ghastly female American accent. I am thrilled that you somehow got all these stories. From the BBC. I'm afraid that KZbin will soon cut them off.

This is great! When this show and others were first shown on the ABC (Aus) in the 70's, I was too young to understand and appreciate them. But now I get the humour so they are fun to watch.

Not as good casting this time. PG describes Tuppy Gl,ossop as being short, stocky, and muscled. But Alderton and Collins are perfectly cast.

So much better written and acted than the Fry-Laurie PG ones. This casting is perfect. That casting is mostly awful. In the Fry-Laurie ones PG's stories are jammed together so that there is too much plot in each video.
