I'm sure that back when the trail was completed (1905) to make it available for motor-vehicles, given the cars they had back then the pass was way more challenging than it is today. Not to mention how challenging/rough it was before when it was a stagecoach route. At least today you don't have to worry about Apache war parties. ;-) -- BR

They really did! Much better drive get to Apache Lake now rather than having to go almost up to Payson and backtrack.

Awesome video. What kind of Drone were you using? DJI Mini 3 or 4? Looks to me that your drone automatically follows you while you’re driving.

Thank you! Its a Mavic 3 Classic - I got it from the DJI refurbished store on massive sale about a year ago. It will track me about 80% of the time successfully. I noticed that after adding the cap & RTT sometimes it wont recognize it as a car 😂

Thank you! Yep - Cove #4. It was a great spot! Room for 4 or 5 vehicles on the beach.

It is! I still haven’t been to a place that’s as well preserved as this. It’s crazy to think that it was a home for 100+ people and a hub for different tribes in the area.
