Wow! A great video indeed. And spontaneous song. No discussion before. We just jammed it. First song of the night. Ode to Eddy.

I became an U.N.C.L.E agent in 1966 when a newspaper was offering the cards up. I still have it to this day. I also have the triangular badge, the corgi car , a ring, two figurines, magazines comics books and dvds. Im as much a fan of the show as I was as an 8yr old kid. In fact I'm rewatching the show at the moment.

In 1966 my family went to Arizona from Wisconsin in the winter to visit my aunt and uncle (ha-ha). At the Chicago train station they sold the Man From UNCLE pulp magazine. It was one of the highlights of my trip, especially on the long train ride.

The closest the video gets to fully representing the “grooviness” of Karnes City might have been when the homespun group, The Grapple played the Saturday night dance sponsored by the Karnes City Teen Chamber of Commerce during Town & Country Days, circa 1967. The venue? The Way Out Inn. Yep, it happened. It sure as hell wasn’t Altamont or Monterrey & certainly not Woodstock, and no, no Bandidos attended. Someone might have had to wear a band-aid for a scratch or something, but that was as close as it got. Born there, went to school there, got the hell out of there. Made a vow upon graduating from HS that I’d never live in area with a municipal water supply you could chew.

Funny how something can be so popular, and seems like over night gone. Tiparillo, Templelet, T. Smalls seen everywhere back in the 1960's are now gone, or maybe I haven't seen them in years if they are still sold. Also, they seem to be trying to open the door for women to join the movement, which also seem to have failed.
