I know a difference between 3rd grade and 9th grade. My DOB is May 4, 2000, and my neighbor has a pretty daughter named Keri born on May 7, 2006. On August 18, 2014, I was 14 years old and was the first day of my freshman year of high school while Keri was 8 years old and was her first day of 3rd grade. My high school started at 7:30am, got off at 1:55pm and Keri's elementary school started at 7:50am and got off at 2:00pm. I remember finishing brushing my teeth and being ready at 7:05am. Since I was fully ready, my mom and I decided to go check to see how Keri was doing in her preparation for first day of 3rd grade. I saw Keri was wearing a navy blue dress while I had on a plaid shirt and khaki pants. I asked Keri how she feels about 3rd grade and she replied saying she is excited to see what new lessons they will learn while saying she bets 9th grade will be tough as a rock. I told Keri that 9th grade is the first year of high school and that I am a bit nervous. Keri told me to relax saying it is going to be alright and we finished talking at 7:20am. I got up and told Keri good luck in her first day of third grade and Keri replied saying good luck in my first day of 9th grade and first day of high school. When our respective schools ended that day, August 18, 2014, I decided to go with my mom to see how Keri's first day of 3rd grade was. Keri replied saying it was so much fun and that her teacher, Mrs. Smith, was such a nice woman who gave her students a piece of chocolate for every correct question. I told her that, starting in middle school and until you graduate high school, you have multiple teachers, usually one teacher per subject (i.e. one teacher for history, math, English, etc.), while also telling her that the teachers were very strict and gave you detention for every wrong answer you got. My mom told me to stop scaring Keri and I told Keri I was joking about teachers giving you detention for wrong answers. I then asked if she ever needs help on assignments, just come and ask me.
