Zero comments? Boring paper for previous viewers? Were they unable to see top, peak, level of craftsmanship? Dedication, attitude, skills. Teamwork...

Man you have skipped the most crucial part which setting the first line of colored threads 😞. Your part one doesn't help with this step.

Does this type of headband traditionally extend to the boards of the book or is it just sewn to the pages?

Hi, do you know what kind of glue is used in this case or in the process of backing paper ?

It's probably a starch-based adhesive, usually simply made from wheat starch and water.

Thank you so much. This two stage technique you demonstrate is so helpful. You use a very thick Methocell for the mend. It says 6% on the small vial. How do you make that up and do you use water or alcohol?

Thank you for a terrific video Sherif 🙏🏻. Why do you advise against using the heat set tissue? I'm assuming you mean something like Filmoplast R90 (heat set Japanese tissue). If so, there doesn't seem to be a downside. Thanks again!

Wonderful video! I have a question. Since I'm not that patient so, can the following method be used? First, we boil the water and then we add the starch that we have dissolved with some cold water little by little and mix it regularly and continue to cook it with a low flame. The advantage of this method is that the probability of starch becoming lumpy is less. ‌

I'll see if this works. However, unfortunately the old photos that are sticking together also have a horrible moth ball odor. A cousin had stored them in moth balls in Florida. My aunt had COPD and had to store them in her garage in New York because she couldn't have them in her house. I also am allergic so they have also been in my garage. They are in waterproof plastic boxes & in an insulated closet. I can't even touch the photos without gloves it's so bad. I have a heated storage unit now so I'm going to take them there as soon as the activated charcoal bags arrive. I'm going to try that. Has anyone else ever had a problem with old photos reaking of moth balls? And any success getting rid of the smell?

Is that suction table backlit. Hard to tell from the video but it looks like it is also a light table. I have two suction tables from Museum Services Corp and I use them almost daily. Just curious where yours came from.
