MAKE BRITISH RAILWAYS GREAT AGAIN SAVE BRITISH IDENTITY SAVE BRITISH SOVEREIGNTY
@jamestrent-nw9zb2 ай бұрын
I've just had some old British Rail Sanforated Dampers installed in my loft, and after rotating the knurled plunger, my bedroom is so much more cosy. Also, I was told by the installer that Sanforated Dampers were also used for preventing exploding gussets in the trousers of British Rail porters.

I work for network rail now, I work with a couple of guys that were BR. They love this advert, I love the fact I’m carrying the torch forward, I absolutely love the railway

Hopefully, with Great British Railways around the corner, they'll make a follow-up to this advert.

Heartbreaking to think that just in a few years from this masterpiece being aired that the industry would become yet another casualty of tory dogma,vandalism & ideology.

I remember thinking in the 2000's how things weren't the same as they were in the 90's haha; things will come full circle. Now there's a ton of InterCity liveried stuff to bash out on the mainline for example.

Why is the sectorization livery so cool? Like it can’t beat br blue but still

"BRITAIN'S RAILWAY". But not anymore... now it's French, German, Japanese, Chinese... we have a nationally owned railway, just owned by other nations! Even a Canadian Pension Fund owns HS1. And, don't get me started on all the other nationally important utilities and infrastructure that were sold off, and are now owned by the Nationalised Industry of OTHER COUNTRIES!!! EDF, anyone? And as for the, frankly, criminal behavior of the Privatised water industry... not a single river in England or Wales that has Good water quality. For shame. But then, I am a Communist, Apparently.

I hope they do a recreation of this for the launch of GBR. While I think it's a load of pr bull the rebranding of private rail in the UK it would be great to see a modern update to this

Trains are some of the most environmentally friendly forms of public transport there are, and yet we have to sit through that fossil fuel plant when we watch this. Oh well, at least they’re being honest about BR’s dark side.

Incredible ad ! Thanks for to upload it in HD ! Concerning the music, 1988 was a bad year for Vangelis. He released "Direct", his most 'new age' work, full of synth presets, superfluous melodies, almost total absence of his composing fingerprint, (I know, I know, Vangelis' fans will hate me). But the music composed for this ad is superb. It compensates the album's drop.

I had Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark on VHS recorded from the TV in the 80s. As a kid for some reason I would always stop winding through the ad breaks when this came on and would watch it. Loved the music on it as well as the views, some of them very local to me. Beautiful advert that seems to bring back memories of happier, more simple times.
