This is the easiest area to learn zwei. I'm out here fighting drakes and necromancers trying to learn how to zwei better, and you have a guide I could have made ten hours ago in my first playthrough

I have always thought the Zweihander would be a cumbersome weapon. You have shown me that in your hands it can be as delicate as a reed in the wind. I bow to you, sir.

It just isn't all that elaborate and sophisticated if you're doing the same attack over and over again and making up cheesy names for each enemy's death. Where's the plunge attack, the regular horizontal swipes, and for christ's sake why isn't that thing electrified?

I like some of these moves. Their names remind me of classic Chinese kung-fu films, haha!

even when i use it i have more vierity in my attacks,

this is stupid, the only thing your using is the two handed over head strike, that's it.

I would have really laughed if some of the balder knights parried you :D

For a Zweihander build, would you recommend the poise ring and the black regen when you kill enemies ring?

Very nice video. As Silver Fox says, high str weapons can be useful for mp. I took out a crew last night with the large club. Now thanks to this video, I will give more one handed Zwei a go.

STR. Weapons aren't useless as any famous pvp'er on DS will tell you. See Large Club, Black Knight Halberd, and Black Knight Sword. They only use dex weapons in order to keep mobile enough to do back stabs.

i tend to do well with the zwei cause its got good dead angle and you can counter bs easily.

No problem. I just rock the mask of the father for looks, though. The mask of the mother is better, but it's so fucking ugly.

Also, I created a giantdad build and it wrecked everything. I think I fought over 20 duels with it and I didn't lose one. The zwei definitely isn't useless for pvp.

Maybe I'm just bad at fighting Zwei users, but I basically need to use a spear to win against anyone who's decent with an UGS, so I wouldn't say the Zwei is "basically useless" for pvp.

Those are valid points, it's not nearly the best weapon for pvp. I wouldn't say it's "useless", though.

The Zweihander is basically useless for pvp. It's slow, nerfed to about 525 damage lightning +5, leaves you wide open, easily dodged, and easily parried. The only way to be good with it is to be able to catch a low-poise character off guard. As is the same for "most" of the strength weapons.
