7:32 The monks are still not really protected against rear fliers. Though the Longbowmen would probably just massacre those. Air Shield buff on rear fliers? 10:14 You also have made a ton of research progress like Rigor Mortis, Howl and other spells. Though you kind of went: "I need more" instead of using them. Part of it to is the gem baits have prevented you using a lot of the magic you already have like Rigor Mortis, Howl, Foul Vapors etc. A little sad that Vclez army got pinned in the fort. I agree the way to try and save it would be pushing on Holoma like you said. I think my personal plan that I'd want to try is have the main army go to Iron Peaks, and then split the Man forts moving between his cap and Holoma or by going on Holoma. You can gem ferry with Harpies. From there you threaten everything he holds dear in terms of production, unforted temples, and income. You could have that BN pretender create the BN armor booster to make big nature spells easier.

14:45 Honestly, it kind of feels as if both you and Kidzin have IRL misfortune in this game so far. The amount of unlucky small details that screw up important plays seems to be pretty big to me. 19:18 From what I saw in Kidzin's replay, it was more that the Behemoths got through the wall later. At a time were the monks had already advanced to stand directly behind the wall and then trampling those before they could hp route your army. In your replay the Behemoths got in faster, but were focused by the Longbowmen and Fae Footmen and died quick even with Ethereal. 26:55 You also killed his Pretender. That is also not something to scoff at. As for the Gem Management, I wish there was a kind of "template" where you could assign a mage a certain number of Gems they should have, and those would be automatically refilled from labs or other commanders that have Gems in excess what was set up. That would cut down on the amount of fiddly work you have to do to keep the mages supplied with the right amount and type of Gems.
@thedistanthorizon3 күн бұрын
14:45 Definitely, though I do feel like that's a game of Dominions in a nutshell. :D 19:18 Yeah, ethereal Behemoths definitely did work either way. 26:55 True, true. Gotta count everything. That would be pretty nice honestly. Just more qol across the board.

@@thedistanthorizon Yeah for their price this wasn't their fight. I don't think they are bad overala, their stats are actually quite great. @@-Kidzin Yeah, that probably would have gone better. Those unicorns die easy, but that fucking horn they have slaps, and that many more bodies would have gutted me probably.
@DarkSideCookies9 күн бұрын
Yeah, I gem baited Kirby a fair amount. I've also been gem baited a lot. Our next game should fix the worst parts of that though the mod you mentioned which will be really nice. The gems will stay on as temp gems for mages through the end of the turn. Unfortunately the game doesn't make a determination based on script or chassis to determine gem baiting so in this case it was a mother, but in other cases it could be a lich doing winds of death spam or a thug doing foul vapors or fire storm. So it has to be fairly lenient in letting you use gems. The bar for me moving armies in the past was 2-3 casts per mage realizing they'll often waste extra gems to reduce fatigue because you've given them extra. It made Lucid's temp gem gen a popular mod to reduce cost, but it was still annoying. The other popular solution was having the server run the battle twice with and without using gems. If using gems improved the outcome, then use that outcome.

Not sure about the temple in Vclez either given you're trading for gold, and the province is in danger. Pyrene couldn't touch Ulm here because I and likely Vanarus would have tried to stop him as free agents. No reason to let the premier blood nation spiral like that. I also didn't necessarily want to coalition Pyrene preemptively since I thought I would get a follow on coalition or disadvantageous war with a stronger Vanarus as the next strongest blood power. At least that's my view as Na'Ba at this time.

Yeah, the minotaurs would have waded through way more consistently if tramplers got to use the new mechanic to displace smaller units. Instead they had to kind of sneak through as manikins in front of them died. There is a replay bug here iirc. In the actual battle, one of the Black Minotaurs ended up on a corner and just got to sit there decking knights for free. I double checked, and I think I recorded fast enough to get the original version when that time comes. Looks like that corner guy may have scored as many as 14 kills primarily on Knights of Avalon. @thedistanthorizon3 ай бұрын
1) I think there are a lot of options, but my direction was to make it about the players! Undermountain is very barebones, but that lets a DM add in a lot. So, I customize things a bunch and add things relevant to my character's backstory. Basically, I generally make each new floor revolve around the backstory of a different player character. 2) One of our players had to leave the group.
