Any tips for the last Corner to get back in the oval? Hitting about 1.11.8 in the Qualy. Thats the place where I loose most of my time.
@Reaver35822 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s the trickiest corner on the track! I found it best to get the car set up for the exit as soon as possible, you ideally want to have the wheel pretty straight as you hit the banking, I found the more steering input I had in it had a tendency to want to wheelspin
@John-ok8ts2 жыл бұрын
Just moved to triples from a super wide and it's far superior. Yea it's a little off putting not being able to see quite as far left or right before seeing a bezel and the distortion which is always going to be there moving from screen to screen isn't as good as having no distortion like in VR but honestly it blows both super wide and VR out of the water - It gives the best of both and the downside is minimal in comparison. What was also really good is I went from a superwide 1080p to triple 1440p and I barely noticed a hit in fps. Goes to show how much I was CPU bottlenecked. The one thing triples has that none of the others has is the ability to place your car at the edge of the track using just your peripheral vision.
@Reaver35822 жыл бұрын
Glad you’re enjoying the move to triples! I can recommend the ROG bezel kit highly if you find the bezels a bit jarring, made a huge difference to mine and with some adjustments there is hardly any distortion at all
@John-ok8ts2 жыл бұрын
@@Reaver3582 it's not so much the bezel but the fact theres a but change in angle of the screens. I have it setup right but it can never be the same. Tbh it's a small thing but I was trying to find something to fault triples compared to a super wide or VR lol

Hey, I used the built in iRacing calculator, measured the distances and angles and entered them in and it worked it out for me. I wanted 180 FOV so I also read this guide to get an understanding of how to achieve that www.edracing.com/edr/FOV.php, you can’t adjust monitor angles independently and shouldn’t have to either so I’d suggest reading through the link and double check all your measurements and angles, good luck!

Though more stable fps is nice, I sense that the 5800X is massive overkill. Solid CPU though, I'm very happy with it myself. What GPU are you running? Coz that seems to be rather low at 1080p. With my 5800X and a RTX2070 I have anywhere from 100-144fps (capped at monitor refreshrate) at 1440p. I suspect that your GPU is the performance bottleneck and the 3600X could have gotten a lot more fps if the GPU were up to the task. Just my thoughts.
@Reaver35823 жыл бұрын
I’m running a 2070 as well and would say I am averaging similar to yourself, also running 1440p triples at there native res, this section of Daytona I noticed was causing significant drops during the race so used it as a benchmark to show the difference. The frame rates might be even higher now after the optimisations in the latest release.
@Reaver35823 жыл бұрын
Also I had ordered the lower spec CPU but it went out of stock and found the 5800x in stock for next day for a little bit more so went for that.

@@Reaver3582 Ah, thanks for clearning that up. Well, the 5800X is an amazing CPU. I upgraded from a 2700X, so the difference was quite substential on my end. Glad it's running well for you now.

@MrDoKo03 жыл бұрын
@@Reaver3582 interresting, i used them aswell on the sprint and endurance yesterday, but everyone seems to have higher topspeed than me, i used the LDF safe setup and only adjusted bbias and brake pads to medium.... somehow people were faster on the oval and accelerated quicker out of the hairpin onto the oval.. i feel like the standard 8 - 5 tc was too intrusive maybe
@Reaver35823 жыл бұрын
@@MrDoKo0 I haven’t tried the safe one but check to see if it is running more wing than the LDF setup, also you want to try and not let the TC kick in especially out of the hairpin, maybe a reduction in the TC will help or smoothing out your throttle input trying to keep it just before the TC kicks in.
@MrDoKo03 жыл бұрын
@@Reaver3582 yeah i know, i tried that all race but that resulted in slower exits, we had one team we raced against stream it on twitch, and their speeds and corner exits were just so much easier, pedal to the metal, car does the rest, meanwhile my car would start to slide or even stutter if i took it too far out of the hairpin... fastest race laptime from me was 1:07.2xx but that was also with draft.. usual laptime were high 7s to low 8s for me
@Reaver35823 жыл бұрын
@@MrDoKo0 it could be that they were getting the car straighter earlier enabling them to just mash the throttle down or maybe there setup was more focussed on there hairpin and the straight, take a look at the VRS telemetry and you should end able to see where you are losing time over the lap. I do think the hairpin is the trickiest corner to get right around here though, not many braking markers and the apex is hidden by the pillar in the car!
