Renting in R'anana, 1 of the mayor pros: Superb education system. e.g. by "Madlan": the Ostrovsky High school in Ra'anana scores better than Alliance & Lady Davis: great high schools in north of Tel Aviv (Ramat Aviv & Afeka). Also, R'anana is on of the most beautiful cities in Israel, an it has a rather omogenous population, w no "problematic neighborhood' unlike Herzelyia, Tel Aviv, Ramat Ga, Ramat Hasharon, etc Ra'anana has a great High tech industrial zone and many other jobs opportunities. The real state is relativelly lower, because although of being close to the sea, Ra'anana doesn't have a sea shore. Also, with a relativelly high percentage of Kip Sruga religious, there area has few stores opened on Shabbat (there are new stores in the north area, Neve Zemer & Neot Sade new neighboors, weizman st.: Superpharm, Arcaffe, a Juice & ice cream store opened on Shabbat) . 1 of the mayor cons: as to date: There is no public transport on Shabbat, while in other cities such as tel Aviv , Ramat Ramat Hasharon, Giva'atayim, etc: the municipalities run a free bus to entertaiment, beach areas, to hospitals, etc. Hopefully, this will change soon. I like the flexivility of reting, because living only in owned appartments, it is more difficult to move. We own an appartment in a nice place, but we rent an appartment in a place which suits us better now. E.g. when our kids was in basic school, we wanted to live in an specific area w a superb school. After they finished he basic education, plus, 1 of us began to work from home, we moved to an amazing area nearby, which suits us better now, e.g. closer to a work place, or to the IDF base of our other kids, to an university, or we can move to a smaller appartment when the kids will leave home. We do rent for long terms, but renting gives more flexibility and a better life
