You want at least 3 to 4 inches of plant height remaining after grazing, as i understand GJ, Gabe Brown, Ray Archuleta, Allen Williams,... They do the adaptive grazing, not total grazing.

101.5°F +/- 1° is within the normal range for cattle. An elevated temp generally means that the body is fighting an infection. A low temp generally means the body is NOT fighting, but is "working to assume the temperature of the environment," or trying to die.

I would love to get to this point. If I aggressively cull and move I imagine all the parasite and hoof issues will disappear. @lazycowfarms33228 күн бұрын
Yes, even lambs can have hoof problems. I need to check their feet.
@lazycowfarms33227 күн бұрын
I think I should be more specific. There are 2 big problems sheep get in warm & wet climates, especially if their feet are wet. It is hoof rot and hoof scald. Hoof rot is when their hooves get infected, and hoof scald is when the flesh between their toes gets infected. If you spray them with 5% copper sulfate, or FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and give them a foot bath with something like Zinc Sulfate, it can eliminate the disease, especially if it is done almost immediately after the first symptoms show up. I'll make a video on this because I just had to do it myself today!

Could you go longer than 3 days a still feel comfortable about the impact? #20 appears pregnant.
@lazycowfarms33229 күн бұрын
The issue with 3 days is that that's when the parasites hatch and that's when the grass starts to grow again. If the cows graze at that time, their parasite load will increase and they will kill the grass.

Conjunctivitis is PINK EYE. I had it many times, whoopdycrap. So did my siblings... And so did many kids at child care and in schools. Warm compress to get the gunk out of the eyelid seams, so you can get the eyes open. Solution to all problems: eat only grass-fed, high-fat ruminant meat (beef, sheep, goat, bison,...) with salt.

It probably wasn't even a cold. He probably had allergies. Those of us who came from the North to the South are devastated by the allergens. Milkweed, ragweed, cedar -- I never knew what allergies were until I experienced that. Right now my eyes are itching, my skin is itching, but at least I am not drowning in mucus. And my reaction is better than it was 2 years ago, when I could barely work at all.
