Soldering iron applied to red loctite screw will help to break that chemical bond and you can loosen the screw with basic hand tools.

Works well on iron ect, never had a leak. On plastic it often cracks the fittings because the resistance is so high, even after just 4 - 5 turns.

Hello @Epoxy we are sorry to hear that you are getting some cracks on your fittings. You are correct that this is due to too much pressure. I can see you have tried using less turns on the fitting, have you also tried spreading the turns out whilst still doing the criss-cross pattern?

Used this compound to fasten lower headset cup on an old school steel mountain bicycle frame with success. I first notched inner ciccumference then used loctite 660 per directions. After setting up for 2 days and test riding, it was hard as a rock saving what could have been a scrap bicycle frame. Resultantly, I'm riding this bicycle heavily loaded from Manitoba to Washington state without worry this summer....

The bicycle trip was fantastic starting in an old mining town of Flin Flon, Manitoba forced to end cuz of wildfire smoke in Cranbrook, British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦. The lower cup was held firm with no issues with the Locktite 660 despite having a huge load of gear including a BOB trailer. The Loctite 660 saved my bike which was purchased in terrible condition then beautifully powered coated/decaled from the scrapper. Great stuff ❤!!!

Hello, Loctite 55 is a sealing cord. A liquid thread sealant, such as Loctite 577 for example, is designed for the locking and sealing of metal pipes and fittings as well as other threaded assemblies. The product provides an instant, low-pressure seal for metal pipes and fittings. It will not creep, shrink or shred. It has excellent chemical and thermal resistance and offers less migration of liquid product after application.

The best I ever used for these applications. A german plumber showed it to me. Since then I discovered how easy to use and most efficient is this product. Thanks to the plumber and the Locktite producer!

I have a bearing that has slight play (viscous fan). The bearing casing is interference pressfit. The bearing won't come out by hand and requires effort to pull the bearing. Im looking to stop the movement and think Loctite 603 or 638. If I'm am to use loctite, I will have to apply Loctite to a bearing that will be initially frozen at -20 Celius to fit the bear case. The bearing case will be heated up as well to expand the the casing slightly. Will Loctite 603 work for this application? Thanks
