I am trying to find out who is the artist singing in this song?

I know only greeting and acknowledging words in my mother tongue, it does make me feel shame not being able to hold a conversation with nativer speakers.

Sgoinneil! Ach… as a person with hearing loss, I’m begging for captions/subtitles in Gàidhlig. I can only catch facal no dhà here and there. Subtitles are invaluable for matching the spoken word to the written words. It would help all learners, not just the deaf and hard of hearing.

Hi. Is toil leam seo. Love it. I'm from Ireland but my daughter is part Scottish so I'm trying to expand my knowledge of Gaelic across the sea. I sing this song and it seems most versions out there is actually Irish people messing up the pronunciation and just doing it in Irish and I don't want to do that. Can you tell me are you from a Gaelteacht area and if so what dialect you'd be singing in here ?? Míle buíchas - mòran taing!

Sorry to be a bit fadalach to the party, but I'm a new learner and would like to know if there are Gaidhlig courses for healthcare professionals?? Tapadh leibh!

Hello! We don't have anything specifically designed for healthcare professionals, but I can certainly pass on the suggestion. We have some five-day Gaelic Short Courses in the summer that might be of interest instead? ac.pulse.ly/0ljiflqge9
@happytraveller89535 ай бұрын
Feasgar math! Is this type of course (immersion) 'do-able' for someone who does not hear very well?? There are multiple nuances with the Gaidhlig language and the phonetics challenges me unless it is accompanied by the written language. Thanks!

Chan eil cuimhne agam a-nist cà an do leugh mi e, ach tha mi dearbhta gu bheil alt ann an àiteigin anns a bheil an sgoilear a' cumail a-mach gun deach a' chiall 'elk' no 'moose' no 'fiadh ach fada nas motha' fhàgail air an fhacal lon le faclairichean is seann sgoilearan eile dan leithid, mar nàdar de 'reusanachadh' air na bhathas a' cluinnteil sna seann sgeulachdan mun lon (car an aon smuain a bh' aig Meg mun fhacal san sgeul seo), ach gur e lon san t-seagh àbhaisteach a bha e a' ciallachadh bho thùs, mar a bha Alasdair ga thuigsinn an seo. Faic cuideachd 'Mac an Luin' is 'Lon mac Lìomhainn' am famhair.

Just starting to learn Gàidhlig, nice that I understood some words. Definitely challenging to learn at 57 yrs old. Found out about 10 years ago while doing genealogy that I had a lot of Scottish ancestors, confirmed it when I did genetic testing and found I was still, over 50% Scottish. Hoping to travel to Alba in next few years, be amazing to speak to native speakers.

My great grand parents left Scotland over 100 years ago to immigrate to Canada. They were MacDonalds from the Isle of Skye. I’d like to think that Kylie is a distant cousin. Lol! I recently took an interest in learning Gaidhlig, something my family lost three generations ago.
