This Q & A was much better than the first one but, in my view, still fell short of what it should have been. Here is one example of how it failed. I am sure that if I trawl through the whole thing I will find many more. At 2:00, 2:39, 2:55 and 3:13 it was mentioned, and stated, that in the oath interviewees were to tell the truth, WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth. At 4:19 Simon Thompson was asked;- (MV) 'What are those yellow dots'. (ST) ''They indicate when the postal worker is stationary'. He did not give the whole truth by stating that the size of the dot indicated the length of time the postal worker was stationary and had to be prompted about this by Mr Vernon. At this point Mr Vernon should have made it obvious that Mr Thompson was being in breach of the oath. What is the point of taking an oath if these infringements are not flagged up by the interviewer. It is all very well interviewees taking an oath but what are the sanctions for breaching it? I did, however, like very much the final summing up of Mr Vernon i.e. ...'nothing to do with me' - deathly silence all around.
