"...[Isaiah] cleansed in the presence of God". This is what our very souls crave. Wonderfully put.

DO YOU LOVE JESUS? "HE THAT IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME." EITHER HIS HOLY SPIRIT IS IN YOU OR YOU ARE "REPROBATE CONCERNING THE FAITH" IN THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY AD33. YOUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS ARE AS FILTHY RAGS. YOUR INIQUITIES HAVE SEPARATED BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR GOD, AND YOUR SINS HAVE HID HIS FACE FROM YOU, FOR YOUR HANDS ARE DEFILED WITH BLOOD; YOUR LIPS HAVE SPOKEN LIES, YOUR TONGUE HATH MUTTERED PERVERSENESS. ESCAPE THE VENGEANCE OF ETERNAL DAMNATION BY BELIEVING IN YOUR HEART JESUS CHRIST CONQUERED DEATH AND HELL ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY BY SHEDDING HIS BLOOD FOR YOUR SINS. BUT ONLY IF YOU BELIEVE IT. AFFECTIONS OF HUMAN NATURE CAN BE GOD-LIKE, YET WITHOUT SAVING GRACE. COMMON AFFECTIONS ARE SOMETIMES STRONGER THAN FAITH IN GOD. IT IS NATURAL TO HATE PAIN. IT IS SUPERNATURAL TO HATE SIN, IT IS NATURAL TO LOVE SIN AND SUPERNATURAL TO LOVE CHRIST. THERE IS NO HEAVEN WITHOUT JESUS, BUT THERE IS A HELL WITHOUT JESUS. LOVE FOR TRUTH AND LOVE FOR GOD IS INSEPARABLE.

Hi. Is there an accurate, best modern English version of Lex, Rex, Or The Law And The Prince? If not, which is the best version to purchase because I understand there have been consequent reprintings. Thanks. BTW; Infant Baptism like Adult Baptism, based on Covenant Theology, is Biblical. The Baptists are wrong.

Thanks for this and praise the Lord for the very gracious interpretation on what could be understood as doom….. But….. to change the subject, aren’t *some* Proverbs to be take. as absolute promises? e.g. Prov. 3:5-6? Or even the promises of Wisdom to those that heed her voice? Thanks!
@L.Fontein721 күн бұрын
This is why they're not called 'Promiseverbs' - as they aren't a promise of what will/will not happen if a certain action is/isn't taken. They're 'Proverbs' because of the probability of what will or will not happen if a certain action is or isn't taken. 😊

This was absolutely amazing! I've never heard it explained before that we are chosen in him, in the way you explained it. Those words in him have just tripped off my tongue a thousand times but I guess I never really stopped to think what that meant. Thank you so much for explaining it so clearly. And now, I love my savior even more!❤

It's the obedience to spend time in reading God's word, have constant communication, with Him in prayer, and meditating on Him while not in prayer, ..loving on Him at all times !

Heavy and engaging talk and explanations and interchange! ... mind stretching. Only because of this episode, and these men introducing and recommending this book, now I want to read it... (give it a try, anyway). This episode (and all these Classics series) illustrate two C.S. Lewis (I think) observations... in effect: * The "Classics" are "classic", and often "accessible" to "regular" people (like me), because of the authors' ability and genius to communicate their profound ideas so clearly in such (often) "simple" language (right?) * The more "deep" theological or doctrinal type books can often have the effect of being much more warm and devotional, than actual "devotional" type books. ... some trenchant comments by John Snyder... "...asking questions of the book [or Bible passages as he's said before] that it's not attempting to answer. That's always a popular way to get a wrong answer." "...some questions to ask ourselves...if we could be as critical in our own thinking of ourselves as we are of Anselm we'd probably be doing well." Thanks all for all the time and effort and hard work and sacrifice to make this episode!

So helpful - thank you, brothers. May I ask about the use of the word ‘perfect’ as applied to the First Adam (as opposed to ‘very good’)? His susceptibility to sin suggests he could yet be perfectible (see eg Hebrews 12:23). Even the Last Adam is spoken of as being made perfect (Hebrews 2:10 and 5:9) but this may be a different sense of the word. Any thoughts?

What would you say of someone who earnestly cries out to God to be regenerated, yet doubts that has yet happened? So they persist in crying out for the experience of being regenerated...

Loved the video! I do have a question? How would Jesus have been able to read and mediate on Psalm 40/110 if the scriptures were on papyrus scrolls? Did Jordan mean that he was reading them in the synagogues or that he had personal copies? I am a bit confused and would love some clarity! Thank you both!
@MediaGratiaeАй бұрын
It was a common practice in those time for young people to memorize much of the Old Testament. We know Jesus followed this practice because He quotes so much of it during His ministry in the gospels. But we also know He spent quite a lot of time in temples and synagogues before He began His ministry (for an example you can see Luke 2:41-52). It is highly unlikely that He would have had personal copies, but there were community copies available to Him. We see this in Luke 4 where Jesus unrolled the scroll of Isaiah and told the people listening that the prophecy was being fulfilled before their eyes that day. Hopefully that cleared up some of the question. There were scrolls in local temples and synagogues and Jesus would have had access to them for memorization and meditation.

So important, correct, and timely. Jesus Christ, his death, and resurrection and nothing else. Many people and religions claim Jesus was killed by men. No, Jesus put himself on the cross to die for YOU.
