This is quite interesting! Just the cost savings to bring trains up from the Readville storage makes this the slam dunk! You mentioned the electrification of the Lakeville line; any progress on the electrification of the Providence line (using the existing catenary lines along the route)?

I took a video of the two abandoned New Haven boxcars a few years ago. I really hope the T donates them. They have been sitting in Widett Circle since the early 1970s. The New Boston Food Terminal never really took off in terms of rail use. It was built very late in the New Haven era and was completed by the time of the merger into Penn Central. The green truss bridge that the Red Line uses is an original New Haven bridge built circa 1900-1910 when the NH rebuilt the former OCRR yards and wanted to raise the Old Colony tracks above the South Boston freight terminal tracks. This was known as South Bay Junction. You should check out the New Market area across the highway by the New Market commuter rail station. Plenty of buildings still exist that were served by rail. There are rails poking through Atkinson street that are over a hundred years old when South Bay was still an active waterfront. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXSocpZ6bpqEa6csi=Nfw_dX2DQFROhBTD

Was there other equipment at the yard outside of the shot? I assume transload yards would have a conveyor that just sits there all the time. Do customers bring their own conveyors to get the plastic?

Just an average day. People dont stop for red lights or stop signs. So why would they stop for a train? Oh and if it was a bike, everyone would blame the train for the cyclists stupidity. They are entitled to do whatever they want, then bitch about it when they get hurt after being stupid.
