I will say, I have never had a celebrity crush before, untill I saw Derek and Susan perform this at the Crossroads festival. More s The way that Susan looks at Derek when he plays. And to top it off she is also a stellar player herself, they have total respect for each other.

If there was ever a big brother (DT) cheering on little brother (DB) moment….this is it. Warms the heart. Dickie would be proud.

I have seen this song played hundreds of times with many different lineups and these two minds were melded in this version. Two guitars as one embodiment of the song. The point counterpoint, the interaction, the phrase start and finish between the two players was beyond anything normally seen anywhere even for this song or among the Allman Brothers members throughout the years and I’m 64 this year and have seen the brothers many times. Tedeschi was playing meaningful lines and has blossomed!

In memory of Dickie Betts, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed is perfect. I can’t think of two better guitarists Derek Trucks (Butchs nephew) and Duane (Dickies son) to play this. Miss Elizabeth Reeds grave is located in Rose Hill Cemetery with Gregg, Duane, Berry, Dickie and Butch. In earlier days the guys would write songs in the cemetery and as a matter of fact Dickie Betts wrote this very song.

My one complaint-it's not long enough. The longest I have heard is SUNY 9-19-71 at 11:26-that isn't long enough. Mountain Jam this song or would you get bored with another 30 minutes of this.

Why does Trucks keep fidling with the Volume and Tone knobs? I counted twenty times in the first three minutes and it didn't sound any different, perhaps it's a nervous habit.
