I wish you guys were old enough to have heard all the experts and scientists tell us if we didn’t save the rainforest we wouldn’t have enough oxygen on earth. 12 years later come to find out we get over 90% from the oceans. I’m all for saving the earth but why’d they lie so much. In 2004 they said the poles would be ice free by 2015. Opps it up 20%

Leaves out a lot about the rural poor. Yes, there was urbanization during this time, but poverty in the country could be cruel as well, but in a different way. Many left to find better prospects in the cities. Meat was a luxury in cities because there was no refrigeration, and it took time to ship with horse and wagons. And there was a growing middle class that's completely overlooked here. But for kids, this is a fairly good overview, and could inspire them to dig further.

Your maps showing the 2 Tropics are horrible. On one map, the Tropic of Cancer crosses Florida, on the other map it goes through Colorado, (when in fact it crosses neither.)🤔 The Tropic of Capricorn on your maps is just as messed up.🤪👎🏻

Living between Hamwich (modern Southampton), Hengistbury Head, and just north of the huge AngloSaxon Abbey complex at Braemore, Hampshire, I really liked this vid highlighting some of the saxon being. BTW, in my village, Downton in South Wiltshire, we have the oldest continuously habited Anglo Saxon house. Now 1 property, originally it was a row of 4 Anglo Saxon cottages, and one of the best kept saxon secrets in Wessex

I’m afraid some of this is incorrect - The Picts were up in Northern Scotland, and The Scoti were on the fringes of the west coast of what would become known as Scotland, The southern parts were controlled by the Britons also, this is why most major Place names in Scotland come from the Cymric language of Cymraeg (British)

This is all very interesting to my eyes and ears as I plan to visit England maybe in the next couple years. It's only been 40 years since I was there last visiting my brother doing medical research in Oxford. The cathedrals, the castles are all fascinating to me.

Same people - The Romans and Celts were invented by the De Medici family and Edward Llwyd respectively. The first was designed to attribute all the Brythonic history to someone else (pleas explain the “Celtic” artwork on Murals in Italy itself?) and Celticism was created so that anything left over that they couldn’t transfer to Italy or England, they could transfer to Ireland or Scotland instead.

There are many myths and dubious claims in this video. For one, there is no evidence of a "celtic migration" from central Europe - a story that hinges on little more than a misinterpreted remark of Tacitus. Spain and Anatolia have also been claimed as the (supposed) "homeland" of the celtic speaking people but in reality there is little genetic basis for any invasion hypothesis. All we know is that Celtic languages were adopted in Britain by about 500BC - probably because they facilitated commerce. The same is true for the arrival of English - no evidence of invasions pushing "celts" west or north, it was just the next fashionable lingua franca. The "names" of "Celtic tribes" are only known from Roman accounts and at least some are misunderstandings. For example "Brigantes" just means "brigands", which tells you nothing about their homogeneity or antiquity. The assumption that Britain was divided into clearly defined "tribes" at all is questionable. In fact, tribal names appear and disappear - they are not necessarily old or agreed upon. The same is true on the continent - new tribes come into existence whenever people choose to club together or are grouped together by others - for example for adopting a common language (hence "the English" or "the Angles") or are tarred by the same Roman brush (the Brigantes, the Berbers (barbarians)). Despite propaganda efforts by various caesars, the empire spread primarily by forging alliances and trading partners. On the whole it was popular and people hated nothing more than being excluded by tarriff and customs barriers (Hadrian's wall). It is not true that "celtic resistance" stemmed the Roman advance - Romans visited and traded everywhere - but they chose their borders where it suited them - and that didn't include the far north or Ireland. Yes there were many revolts and raids by malcontented people, which is why almost ALL Roman cities had defensive walls. Why do so many historical narratives resemble Lord of the Rings instead of approaching history with an open mind?
