An interesting look into an old classic. Personally I never played the game, but seeing the gameplay it almost seemed ahead of its time with the visuals combat styles etc. I personally think a refresh would have done this game well and possible could've become a franchise, but I think the movies were too early for the game. I think the major hype around LOTR has died down with the new generation and a game launch could be overlooked. Imagine if games were where they are now when the movies came out, I could see this becoming HUGE!

One of the best lotr games and its criminal that this game didn't get a next gen port and lego lotr didn't get a next gen port either and there hasnt been a truly good lotr game since the middle earth shadow of war games and Lego the hobbit, I think its very interesting that in the return of the king game merry and pippin and I think farimir are unlocked by completing the game and you play as gandalf, aragorn, legolas, gimli and Sam but you only play as Frodo in the very last level of the game even though he's the main character

Maybe its some sort of a reward for saving him? Suddenly Jin can now become the jito as opposed to the possiblity of the shogun sending a random samurai clan. Or maybe he cares for Jin even more after he saved his life?

with modern need for speeds i always turn off music in the game. give us different radios to choose from like forza EA. i want my rock while racing, something that makes my car go VROOOOOOOOOM not rap that makes my car go MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I like ac valhalla for what it is. I’m not into AC games but I find it quite good.

I'm sorry, but watching every turn just be a miserable handbrake drift and then pump all of your nitrous coming out of it is not at all the kind the racing game experience I want. Just call yourself a burnout clone at that point.

The criticism from AC devotees may be fair, I'm going to buy and play this game as a Viking game, no an AC game. I think I'm going to really enjoy it.

Honestly if ac Valhalla was just named Valhalla and didn’t have the ac name card then I think it wouldn’t of gotten the criticism it has gotten b/c if u look at Valhalla’s lore (isu arc in specific) deeply you can see how beautifully they combined and connected isu lore with Norse mythology and if they just made this game as a spin off to tell and fill in the gaps of the isu lore we know and the ac lore then this game wouldn’t of had much criticism but all in all it’s a good game if u come into it thinking it as a Viking lore dump not a traditional ac game

The handbrake is your worst enemy and not your best friend. It slows you down way too much.

Final fantasy picked up on a high note with all the beautiful visuals and I was awestruck by the Phoenix and Ifrit showdown. However, as the hours into the gameplay increased, it started feeling a little off. Graphics: The running physics felt odd to the more grounded running in FFXV. Even the world felt shadow and constricted (the world was beautiful though). I was confused whether this really was a 2023 AAA Release Narration/ Story: Very long cutscenes and dialogues which made me skip more than once or twice. (I was not aware this was inspired from Game Of Thrones). But it really did give a GoT feel in the beginning at least. I could imagine all the kingdoms fighting for power and could relate it to GoT The time skips just disconnected me - Twice! Joshua could have saved all the heartache if he just spoke to Clive ! Jill / Cid could have had more backstory given Even Torgal had a better backstory (Fenrir) and Gav was the best Boi ! Jill and Clive Romance felt awkward; especially when Clive was absorbing her Eikonic abilities Villain: The Villains were a predictable trope; especially Titan (love revenge story), Barnabas (the evil puppet) who had so much potential as a main villain, and the obvious Ultima ( Bhunivelze Copy Pasted) was not at all original. Even the dialogues felt same from FFXIII-3 Story Line Side Quests/ Other Side Quests: The dialogues were uninteresting which really bored me to no end. The side quests do help build the world, but it does not have to be a chore and redundant. Battle System: Yes, the Eikonic abilities were super cool and flashy like DmC games. But that’s it! Bosses don’t have elemental weakness nor status afflicts You don’t get any status effects - neither(regen, bravery,faith) good nor bad (poison,silence, stone) It’s just attack-dodge- stagger- attack repeat The Dominant battles felt for the sake of being grandiose & flashy(no doubt they were grand). I felt forced to experience this resplendence. It was too much adrenaline rush and does not give players the time to register the previous Dominant battle that just happened a few hours ago! I was left feeling hollow after finishing the game. And I don’t know what to do now. I always have 2-3 play throughs of every game I play. But this one bored me to no extent with the constant stupid side quests (within the main story) and felt taxing. The best part about the game was the OST! Very engaging and a mood setter!

Just finished the game. It was getting tedious after 60%. I was skipping the dialogue for all side quests after 80 ish %. The story started out so strong. Then lost its focus and became a bit unnecessary over time with stupid filler.

Connor himself is misunderstood and disrespected. They wanted him to be like ezio but it didn’t happen. Ppl forget that his whole life has been nun but tragedies and killings. Ofc he going to act before thinkin and thinking that one move is going to save his people and the rest of the people but he learns that killing Templars and bad guys isn’t going to save his people nd save others. It’s just life and he realizes that. The homestead missions shows he a has a heart and especially when meeting Samuel adams. Not being biased cuz he’s my favorite character but the disrespect of him because he’s not a ezio makes me mad Ian gon lie.

For me the characters were not memorable. Had nothing to build up with and the story plot sucked. The soundtrack was very disappointing. Not to mention, Unbound gets worse.
