So, in ASE there was a bug with taxidermy; the display would always use the base material of the creature's model, so for example the Raptor, Aberrant Raptor, and X-Raptor would all look like normal raptors. Is this still the case in ASA?

You can get dermis from the Overseer and the King Titan aswell; we got an Overseer dermis and someone we know has the KT. As for Rockwell, I can't confirm but you can phase through the barrier with a Pyromane so that could help.

I know not technically on the map but if you take the theri into a dragon fight,after go for the red bushes. They will give the most ive seen yet but definitely not an early game move

I love these things. They're one of my favorites. I love them in the original, but I love them even more in ascended. I use them 2 defeating bosses, and it's incredible how they work. And I'm gonna defeat every boss. Well, the ones I can't I mean, the only one I can't is aberration, but I do love, it's so much

This guide is good, but you missed a lot of important points about this. 1. You can take the dermis of such "creatures" as Rockwell, and I will try to explain why. As long as the body of the creature is not gone, you can still use the tool and take the dermis. The body does not have to be motionless and have no animation, the creature is considered killed at the moment when it has zero HP. So you can get the dermis of Rockwell, King (although I have not tested this yet), Overseer, etc. It is difficult, but possible, you need to make it in time. We already have the dermis of Alpha Overseer at our base (on the official ofc), and I am proud of this achievement, and I recommend you try and see this unique exhibit. 2. Some dermis cannot be transferred between servers, they spoil after a trance, for example, bosses and corrupt dinos, this is an important fact. That's how it was in ASE

UPDATE: Crazyjoe101 mentioned below you don't have to use your implant to die and get your dermis. You can go up to the dermis stand hole the radial wheel and select survivor settings, then capture survivors. There are reports that you can get Rockwell dermis and overseer but the timing has to be just right - not been able to replicate this myself

Awesome video! I have a question - are you actually able to place any of the costumes onto the taxidermies? I struggled to figure out how to get the skeleton costumes to work and have not been able to so far. I can get them transferred into the taxidermy stands, but they never seem to equip.

You can get your own dermis without dying by using a dummy, you can copy your player to it tyen take the dermis out and use it on a display stand

Can two feathers be used during breeding at the same time

Thanks for this Crabby! The outro made me laugh, but yeah, this is the kind of videos we need here in the Ark community, right? There is so much to learn. Like, I've been using taxidermy stands for literally years and I didn't know about that cryo trick. I assumed that it was something to do with the passage of time like you had to wait for the dermis to regenerate on the creature or something. Because it seemed like if you came back later you could get another dermis. But now that I think about it it's quite likely that the creature would've been picked up and then tossed out again in the interval.

Random question: Is it actually level dependent, or health dependent? I ask only because it is usually the case that a higher level creature has more health than a lower level creature. So is it possible that the kibble you got was actually proportional to the health and not the level? Or did you already test that but not include it in this video? EDIT: Still a super helpful video! But this question popped into my head because I want to say there was something else related to farming creatures a while back where it ended up being health dependent and not level dependent, though sadly I cannot remember for the life of me what it was... maybe Fjordhawks and eating sheep carcasses? I cannot remember anymore...

Are there dinos that cannot get grinded up on here? We tried Mammoths and they do not seem to be grindable.

To anyone that doesn’t want to use this due to how gruesome it is you can get a lot and different types of kibble from beating roaming King Titan. But thank you for this detailed video Krabby! I’ve been waiting out a guide in the grinder as I grinder up babies to get zero kibble each time.
