This is why I'm fucking crazy now. I used to just let people walk and talk shit to me because I was too scared to say or do anything about out. But since I started working construction and taking public transit, my confidence has shot up. Constantly being put into situations where u have to stand up for yourself or literally fight for your life, really changes you. I'm not afraid to say something now if someone pisses me off, idc if I loose, it's the message.

I hate how much this stuff still happens! I had some boys make some very disturbing comments to me on the bus the other day and it made me very uncomfortable. When I got home and told my parents, they said it was my fault because my shirt was too tight and people are going to talk. WHY IS THAT EVEN A THING?! I should be able to go to the fricken bulk barn without dealing with people like them. This video made me realize how far we still have to come as a society and how messed up this all still is.

we had an event/ function in my building, and my mom told me not to wear sleeveless clothes because the area around our building is full of creepy people. i understand that she was just looking out for me, but it is so sad that we cant wear whatever we want because of these assholes.

Naw, the kids ain’t alright Elaboration- the vast majority of us have some sort of depressive thoughts (I’m not pretty enough, skinny enough, my life doesn’t matter etc). We’re all definitely going to have eye problems due to the hours we spend online. We eat too much or too little, obsess over things of little significance. I’m not saying everyone, but enough to be worrying. We’re abused and shamed and told lies that aren’t true but believe them anyway because there’s no one to tell us otherwise, to tell us we matter. The most dangerous places for ourselves is inside our own heads. We feel unloved and helpless, hopeless, as what will be our world that will be passed to us destroyed by older generations who didn’t care enough to fix it. So we will not only have our own problems but those of our parents and grandparents too. We’re all educated enough about abuse and depression to not do that to our kids, our kids will be the most educated and cared for generation yet because we will do what our parents failed to. We are raped and used and lied to and beaten. Naw, the kids ain’t alright

Watching this reminded me all the time at school when we were talking about the boys at school not being not having their hoods up and it just reminded me of being sat in front of two of the boys saying oh what’s so scary about a boy with a hood up it’s not them it’s just that comes off threatening and we’re actually then worried about what could happen

They keep teaching you that you can’t defend yourself when you’re so very strong because they do know that you’re strong af they be like “men will feel useless if you did defend yourself you should’ve called your brother or your guy friend he’ll get mad and feel useless that you did it yourself” then the girls especially young girls start believing that and NOT even TRY to defend themselves! It’s ridiculous! WOMEN ARE SO STRONG AND POWERFUL PERIOD!

“Boys being boys” is not a good enough reason for them to act the way they do. “Boys don’t mature as fast as girls” isn’t a good enough reason. Girls don’t need to be looking down at boys, boys need to be looking up at girls and leaning from them.
