This is great and clear explanation! Thanks 😀👍 Just for the idea… can you tell me what the average distance is between the camera and the light? I’ve tryed it a while ago but probably my swing was to much so the spirals were to big… didn’t fit on the photo… And unfortunately not sharp while I focussed the way you show here. I will definable try it again 😀

@@Hannemanneke hi and thanks. The camera is about 1m from the light and the torch is on 1m string. It's in my attic so I use a low part of the roof. I don't swing the torch much as it doesn't need it but its easier to adjust the length of string to suit.

Hi, I got a custom set of tips made for the Light Paint Paradise 20mm Plexi Tubes. I have the sabre tips and the Choob tips. The definition in the tips is amazing. The adapters for the Ryu and Critter are amazing.

Hi, found 10m length on eBay then cut it down to create three equal lengths and joined side by side in hot glue. Diameter doesn't matter much but mine are 4mm but it must be side glow cable!

Hi where in the uk would i be able to source the 1 inch to 3/4 inch plastic pipe connector you show in the video
@llynlightpaintingandothers6027 Жыл бұрын
Hi Graeme, I bought mine off eBay from China, but I guess if you have a B&Q or plumbing centre near by, you might find some in UK.
@graemeclarkson9552 Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for your reply i may have to try something outside the uk as we use metric sizes here so the socket dia would be 22mm or 32mm the threaded end can be had in 3/4 inch here though I enjoyed your video above and the spirograph which i am keen to try, thanks

Thanks for the idea, I was setting mine up before your video was 4 minutes in. I had many fails before I got the settings right. I can not leave the room lights on like you do. To start I have a crop sensor but my 24mm worked great, my ceiling is 2.7m (9ft) so I had my camera on a tripod set at 1m (3.5ft) so I can lay under it to see the field of view and focus. 25 seconds worked best for me because I used a pretty heavy light and it moved quite slower. This would be so much easier if you had a flip screen or hooked up a monitor. This was a fun experiment, I want to get into portraits as I have grandkids that would be willing and perfect for the shots.

Thank you for the message. I actually turn all lights off but for the video left them on as its easier to see the method used. Glad you found settings that work for you.

When most people talk lighting, they talk about all the ways you can break the bank. When light painters talk lighting, it's pocket change and you get some edible treats to boot! I'm here from your post in one of the Facebook light painting groups. You did a nice job for a first video and I look forward to more.
