I can attest that sitting like this damaged my legs as a child. Doctors later told me that it stretches the tendons and ligaments and damages the meniscus in your knees. It did all this to mine. As a teen one of my knees would occasionally pop out of joint, as I called it, when I squatted during play. It was painful. Even though I stopped sitting in the W position my knee would lock bent until it popped back into position after 15-20 minutes and I could once again bend my leg. My silly parents never took me to a doctor for this. I have had knee trouble my whole life and had to have two scope surgery's due to knee problems. I blame sitting like this as a child as the start of those problems. Today I cringe when I see kids sit like this. Please learn from my mistake.
