Nice Vid, Thanks. How are you getting around the baffle in the tank? Do you feel hitting it with the telescope magnet? On the opposite corner I think a bent coat hanger with a small horseshoe magnet securely wired to one end would help you get the other corner junk maybe. You could afterwards dump in a gallon of white vinegar, shake around and flush with water. Immediately lightly rinse again with gasoline doped a bit of 2 cycle motor oil mixed in the gas, that will help retard rusting again due to the water and vinegar. Be sure to tip and turn the tank in all directions to get an even coating of gas/oil. Blow dry with a yard blower. Try to avoid using any thing that would create a spark against the tank when rinsing with the gas like the tip of a compressed air hose. It's how I've cleaned my small engine steel tanks. I also shake a cup full of washers and nuts in those tanks with just vinegar and let stand overnight but I would not use nuts and washers in an automotive tank! Yep Beetles are challenge but easy to understand if your willing to dive in.

I did thisafter wasting money on extensions,already had small steering wheel. It shifts better then a stock shifter . 100% cool

Did your use the Empi or the hurst shifter and, curious, did it come with the spacers. The bus shifters ball drops too far but the spacer doesn’t seem to be available on all the Empi bus shifters. Almost like it’s a separate purchase? Thx for any info
