I am little skeptic about it it doesn't sound natural to me. Up and down or down and up it sounds little unnatural to me.

I think its best to create a dedicated bus just for sc to VR. The bus can then have just the tracks required to trigger VR. For example you may not want kick and snare spikes constantly triggering the VR. Also Im not sure how good the VR is at catching real fast transients on voice,, i have not deeply tested it yet,, but to be safe you can set the compressor before VR to control these.

Great job except for that clean sound at beginning is missing something, on the original you can hear some delayed modulation that has the delayed note climbing, everything else is pretty damn perfect man, nice work 👍🏽
