Buckle up… this is a long explanation. It all started back in 2009 when Taylor was accepting what I think was her first ever award. She was 19, at the VMAs, accepting what I think was album of the year. She had her trophy and the mic, about to make her speech, when Kanye snatched the mic out of her hand and basically said Beyoncé deserved the award, not Taylor. Beyoncé didn’t know this would happen, nor wanted it to. Taylor was visibly upset but didn’t say anything and made her speech afterwards. Sometime later, Kanye released a song titled “Famous” this song included the line “Me and Taylor might still have s*x because I made that b!tch famous”. Before this song was released, he asked permission to out her name in the line. Never said what the line would say, or anything. Taylor asked if it would be mean, he said no. When the song came out, Taylor spoke about it saying something like “I never approved of that. I never said that was okay. This isn’t okay”Kim Kardashian, Kanye’s girlfriend at the time, edited the phone call to make it seem like Taylor approved of that line when she never did. She then released the edited call online making Taylor to be the bad guy. She called Taylor a snake, a liar, and a b!tch, and just a bunch of mean stuff. She also bullied Taylor behind the scenes. People believed Kim, and the whole media turned on Taylor back in 2016, saying the same stuff Kim called her. This caused Taylor to disappear from public view for a year back in 2017. She, then, in 2017 or 2018, came out with the album you are listening to, reputation. She was basically playing the role the media was casting her to be. People called her a snake? Snakes everywhere. People casting her as a villain? This album was darker… like a villain. Oh also I forgot to mention in Kanye’s music video for famous, it had a naked wax figure of Taylor in a bed with Kanye. Anyways, taylor was just literally playing the role of her reputation at the time, on the album reputation. The real phone call between Taylor and Kanye got leaked like 3 years later… Kanye is a disgusting person. Also when Kanye stole Taylor’s mic in 2009, he was THIRTY TWO.
