Is number 16 for the Argos Dave Mann? Have read about him and my Dad used to tell me about him. Mann was before my time. My Argo fandom began just after he left,in 1971.

Colour video of this game existed as late as 1978; the day before that year's game, CBC showed highlights from the telecasts of all the Grey Cups from 1970-1977, and all the 1970 footage was in colour.

Awesome to find this footage of my father playing #28 Als. I have seen short clips but never a full game.

Man, I just love those classic uniforms. That's when the CFL teams looked REALLY professional. Today, even the Stampeders look dumb with those Pop Shoppe uniforms. Those Als uniforms are the best I've ever seen. Who could know that 31 years later, in the 98th Grey Cup, that too many Riders on the field would allow Montreal a second field goal attempt to win the Grey Cup, only that time, they didn't miss.

Thanks for posting, I started watching football in this time. Reminds me when I watched and didn’t know to much about the sport. My first player that I liked was David Green #26. I became a huge Alouettes fan. I going to the game tomorrow against Ottawa. Go Alouettes Go!!

They should have permanently kept that new scoreboard at lansdowne that also went around both sides of the stadium and would show messages on it such as' Go Riders', etc! They kept that scoreboard for only a couple of years. The artificial turf they installed was an inprovement over having to play in a mudbath! But the new turf they have there now is better and safer than that carpet type of turf. Also, lansdowne was always a horrible stadium and the new one there isn't much better!

Back then you fumble the football forward and it's recovered by your team, and it's considered a forward lateral and brought back to the point of the fumble.... Exactly as it should be.

This was Thanksgiving Day, and the first time I attended a game at the old Autostade. If memory serves, Don Sweet kicked a late-game convert into the end-zone seats, whereupon a young fan refused to turn the ball over to security (in those days, teams wanted 'em back), and a full-scale brawl quickly erupted. Something else you don't see these days: it was the Stampeders' 2nd game in 3 days -- they had been badly beaten on the Saturday in Toronto. With the Als coming off a 7-day break, it went a long way to explain the horribly lopsided 45-0 score.
