What is the name of that beautiful song you chose for the intro? I can’t find it anywhere. It was absolutely perfect with your lovely heartfelt poem, both tugged at my heart strings.

Yea but raising animals for slaughter leads one to be reborn in hell. It’s better to just garden.

I always had the attitude if something medical happened to me. I don’t WHY ME I think WHY NOT ME. Other people have had so much worse. My husband of 50 years next month has watched me in pain with a worried look. He has waited for me to be out of quite a few surgeries and has always been present. Sometimes I think that’s harder than the pain. ❤❤❤

I can relate. I have epilepsy. Years ago I believed God could heal me. I contacted 2 elders at my church. We fasted and prepared to come together to have them lay hands on my head and pray for me. I stopped taking my seizure medication and i had a gran mal seizure. I was devastated because i believed if i did all the right things to be healed by God. I sat in church the next Sunday and the Spirit of God washed over me and asked me, "If you have epilepsy the rest of your life, will you love me and serve me?" I wept, and I surrendered to Him. I told him, Yes. It's difficult!

That is so beautiful that you see God's romance in all of this. I often feel like my time and money spent in my garden is a subtle and strong competitor with my faith and time with God. I really hope that my gardening develops into something I can do to connect with God and grow closer to Him. ❤❤

It makrs sense to me to grow what you want to an trade your extra for want you would rather not grow. Some people love to grow tomatoes. I say let em. Id rather buy raspberries than grow and pick em! Do want is fun and productive for you and trade for what you dont want to deal with. Eaxh to his own.😊❤

That's not reimagining, that's reverting to the ways in which it was intended for humans to steward and live off the earth. It's resurrecting our previous ways of sustainable life as it was before the world started moving too damned fast.

My father was a farmer, worked for the USDA, and taught agriculture at the U of Minnesota. As a former "farm girl," I have some questions. I am an animal rights advocate who has no agenda concerning how I choose to eat and how your listeners choose to eat. I don't live under a rock and am well aware people will continue to eat meat. If I understand your message correctly, it means that livestock could be saved from having to be transported hundreds of miles to a large processing facility and could, instead, be processed on the farm of origin or in a more local facility. I was not aware of why this facet of meat harvesting continues, and I thank you for clarifying this. Please correct me if my understanding of the situation is incorrect. Local slaughter and meat processing was how it was commonly done in the sixties, as I remember. If this is the case, I would be willing to support farmers in doing this. Transportation over the course of several hours is hard on livestock, and, from my observations, inhumane. My question would be, who would oversee or insure that processing at local facilities would be carried out in a humane and safe fashion? Dr. Temple Grandin's slaughterhouse designs have made a huge difference in the animal's experience immediately prior to slaughter, but these innovations in the large slaughterhouse's do nothing to offset what the animal endures during lengthy transportation. Thank you for your time.

I am very interested in this topic but it would be good to have some more solid information about this. For example what during the processing is harmful? Just feel like this is lacking some of the more solid information.

Hey Justin, if you had to begin all over again where would you begin? We are a small family of three, our daughter is four, and we have five pets. Which includes our rabbits just like your chickens. We are desperately trying to figure it all out, and have watched your channel, Jess , more than farmer’s, nomadic movement, the honeystead, Hollar homestead, hidden spring farms, epic gardening, etc and would love some advice or just a chat. Maybe talk about a prototype for a rabbit tractor 🤷🏽‍♀️🤔

Oh Jessica, sweet Jess…God never leaves you, look closer, his kiss is in the sunrise and the sunset! His love shines on you as his gentle breeze moves through the gray of winter, his smile kisses the ground you walk on so as you look around tomorrow, read these words and reconsider the Glory of God’s love and grace, find warmth at the touch of the sunshine! Blessings my sister!!!
