That's very good I was also thinking about the same design. That's very much practical I will also upload the video which I will make in this regard. Good job.

I realize that this is three year old video so I don't know if the producer is still following this, but my question has less to do with the feeder than the rabbit house. Do you not have trouble with the rabbits burrowing out of the rabbit house OR varmints digging in and killing the rabbits?

I'd love to do something like this. But I wish I could come up with a rabbit an automatic rabbit FEEDER rather than a FAT-NER. I really want to get meat rabbits. But I'd also love to be able to go on vacation with my family. This will reliably keep them alive and it works great for the chickens. I just wish there was some way to limit what they eat.

Timers? For a timed feeding?
@MichaelSmith-ku7ki Жыл бұрын
@Colez Yeah.. they have dog and cat food feeders with timers. I didn't finish my chicken coop before winter. But once that's done I'll get rabbits. I just need a plan so they can be self sufficient for a week or so in case I ever want to go somewhere.

Eventually with baby having Mom’s milk, baby will smell like Mom and she may begin to Mother her. She seems in the video to be warming up to baby. Since she was a first time Mom needing assistance, she was probably confused about what was happening. I hope they both continue to do well.

What is nubian goat milk like for cheese butter and yoghurt?
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
Yogurt and cheese is really good not too difficult to make. Goat milk is homogenized so u need a seperater in order to make butter which we have not done

@@truenorthhaven7676 I mean in terms of other goat breeds. Also how much is the cost to feed 2 nubian goats for a year?
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
@@tiernanwearen8096 our goats forage half a year . If I would have to estimate I would think 120bales of hay for 2 nubian does for the year. You would have to price it out in your area. Nubian goat milk is one of the fattest milk producers, Nigerians are probably little higher fat content. Milk tastes awesome fresh and cold, people cant tell its goat milk raw we dont pasteurized it

Hi! I was looking for rabbit feeder ideas and came across your video… This looks like a great option for my rabbit. Have you had to adjust it at all since making this? I’d have to use metal wire instead of zip ties because my female might just chew those zip ties lol.
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
Its pretty good, rabbits haven't chewed anything on the feeder. I made it too high so it's hard to pour from the top. I have 3 breeder females and there litters at times, so if I were to do it again ide adjust the volume so it would hold a full bag. The food holds up in the 90 so the length of feeder is not necessary

@@truenorthhaven7676 congrats on the great news! nice idea , but a question now - after almost 8 months of [roceeding this idea - does the rabbits damage the plastic by thier sharp teeths? a rule you have to remember always when you growing rabbits for breeding is no plastic and no wood in their cage, simply , they wil eat it.
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
There is not one chew mark on the plastic. I guess they rather eat what's in it. We give them branches to chew on and they prefer that, thanks for watching!

how is it holding up? does it jam in the bend when filled to the top?
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
The trough at the bottom does not need to be as long. The feed holds up a bit in the 90 but comes out as they eat. 2 can eat at a time, but if you keep it full, its never a rush to the feeder like if you feed them daily. If I did it again I may go one size up on the 90? Depends how many rabbits your feeding. I have 4 at the moment but had 3 does with 2 liters in a 10x10 and used this feeder and I'm happy with it. Thanks for wAtching!

@@truenorthhaven7676 thanks for the response, just curios does it hold a whole 40lb bag? how long does it last between refils with your set up. I am torn between this design or adding extension tops on traditional j feeders. I did the math and if i build 12 inch extension on a 9 inch j feeder it should about 10lbs of food or 1.6 gallons of volume. my end goal is to have a hole bag in there not sure if can do that with a pipe since my cages are off the ground . . . also i am concerned about they chewing plastic. do you ever have any issues with that?
@truenorthhaven76763 жыл бұрын
@@mikeriverajr4447 sorry did t see this till now. It doesn't hold a full bag. We usually put a bucket full and lasts a week with 4 rabbits. I just used material I had lying around. If I were to do it different ide make the feeding part shorter, and one size up on the 90 maybe. The plastic has never been chewed in 7 months.
