Your video randomly popped up on my recommended and I really enjoyed it, thanks for sharing your adventure! Small note, whenever you're using your RODE mic, it seems that the input is set to only the Left channel. Therefore when I am watching with my headphones, the audio only comes out of my left ear. If you already knew this was a problem, ignore this but just wanted to bring it to your attention! A fix for this would be to change the property of your audio track in your editing software and make it "stereo" and set both outputs to the same channel. Hope this helps! If not, it was still a great video, keep it up Ashley!

Hi there, I‘m hiking the inner Highlands of Iceland since nearly 3 decades and have done the Laugavegur several times as well, even Solo Snowshoeing it in Winter, when it is closed to the regular Tourism, cause there is a monster shitload of Snow ( up two 20 feet in some parts) and it will become more a mountaineering experiance insteed of just a Hike. I was starting in Skogar at the South Coast and ending up 20miles north of Laugar. It took me nearly a fortnight. But anyway, this kind of weather you have to expact in all Summer Months. It could be sunshine the whole trip, with bright shinnung colors all around you, but it could be as you have experianced it aslo, or could become even MUCH MUCH MORE WORSE as well…..as this country has it in its name…..it is ICE LAND, so be well prepared is quit essential !
@ur_typical_mtn_girl5 ай бұрын
@@matthiasschnapka9180 wow I can’t imagine doing it alone and with all that snow! Mad respect to you. And yes thats what I learned. Be prepared for ALL types of weather. I went from having all my layers on for the 3rd day to having a T-shirt on for the last day.

I'm an old Icelander and I just did this trail. This was actualy my first highland hike and it was incredible. What I sensed so strongly was the enormous power that this country can unlease from time to time. This area is extremely volcanic and when you know a little about the geology of Iceland and see this landscape you must be in awe of the power of nature. At what time of the summer did you go? Early June?
@ur_typical_mtn_girl5 ай бұрын
Amazing! So glad to hear you did the trail and had a great experience. But yes the power that you feel from the land all around you is pretty insane. We went early June so we went the first week the trail was open for the tourism groups.

Planning on flying in over Christmas into Denver then staying for like 5 nights and want to ski but I’m an amateur. Thinking of Ski Cooper now for sure. Where else would you suggest I ski and also stay? Staying through New Year’s possibly. Thanks for the video!
@ur_typical_mtn_girl6 ай бұрын
I think Beaver Creek is also a great place to ride if you're more of an amateur! They have a lot of really fun green/blue trails (Red Buffalo area) and it's usually less crowded than Vail, Keystone, or Breckenridge. But I will say I love walking around Breck's town the most, so in terms of affordability and things to do other then skiing, that's one of the best (and still great skiing just more crowded typically) Hope that helps!

just want to point out you seem way more comfortable/confident filming b-roll out in public, and it may not seem like it to you but your editing has come a long way, really easy to watch...and you touched a little bit on your journey post-gymnastics which is great, its not something people really think in depth about in their teens, all the changes that start to happen after senior season, even if you go into college gymnastics your routine will NOT be the same as it was in elite, a lot of people struggle afterwards and develop a sort of body dysmorphia while others are able to train like theyre 16 still

Thank you! It's always nice to have that reminder that I am progressing. And yes, I think my view of health and body image has been through a lot of change since being done with gymnastics. I've learned there's just some thoughts and bad habits that will always be there from the sport, but learning what positive habits or thoughts I can form to counteract them has been refreshing.
