Is v15 submarine heavier than v15 without submarine attachment? Because gen5 is too heavy for me, v15 is more ideal for weight while vacuuming.

Budget receivers. A reasonable selection of the affordable. Too bad Harman Kardon no longer makes the 3390 and 3490. On sale you could get those discounted by $100 or more. So $269-$299. Those were great buys! Good power, decent DAC in the 3490, phono stage, etc. Yeah, HK still makes a stereo receiver but they've cheaped out on these previous class A/B units. The sound on the new pieces is thin, not as powerful or musical. So what else is NEW? Give people a cheap DAC and some bluetooth and who cares what it sounds like, lol! Then again, you could buy a Marantz in the $400-$500 range that isn't bad?

Why? I have 10 year old model Sony STR-DE197 and it works flawlessly. Granted it is not top pick but very nice entry level reciver. So is new model as I hear. My experience tells me that most of us have some bad experiences with some gear

I'm not sold. I still believe Nad is the way to go if we are talking music only, anything more then that we're talking AVR. Stay clear of Onkyo as they suck if I had to buy another AVR I'd go with a Denon and for just stereo a Nad with a Crown amp.

Why would I connect a 5.1 or 7.1 Blu Ray player to a Stereo Receiver ? Defeats the purpose of surround.

These receivers are not worth the asking price....sound cheap even with very good speakers($1000.00 and more)...stick with harmon/kardon or marantz...the older models if possible.....

I have owned dozens of stereo systems including some very high end gear. I have a small Yamaha receiver in my shed with a Yamaha sub which I paid 30 dollars for and I really enjoy it when I work around the yard. Simple little system, but it is bullet proof, loud, and sounds pretty damn good.

@@kohnfutner9637 I don’t need to think about this, I’m not getting paid. I’m partial to Klipsch and Cambridge components because I own them. I like music. Junk is subjective as my stereo is expensive for me but junk compared to say my fathers... non of it wipes anything. They are inanimate objects powered by coal to move air.

HDMI input for 2 channel receiver.(Onkyo) Watching Blu-ray movies on 2 channel receiver. Not fun. HDMI is best for playing Blu-ray movies or 4k movies in multi-channel audio. Just imagine watching 4k movies in 2 channel receiver. Yuck. Basically, 2 channel receiver is playing audio only.

I guess limiting them to 2.0 systems equates to entry level. I have the Yamaha model. It's ok but nothing special at all. I bought it for the bluetooth and it's cheap price. I rarely use it but no complaints so far. The connectors are pretty limited but the bluetooth connects well.

You are right. I have a newer sony, ok for tv. But, when it comes music nothing in my opinion beats my old antilog Pioneer sx 626 from 1971 and my Realistic from 1981, except maybe another old school receiver. Couple that with a good old school turntable . They put the soul back into the music

Does anyone know of any receivers with a midrange tone control?
@EXTRA300s
@EXTRA300s 6 жыл бұрын
Every good receiver, but it's not a dial, but you adjust every speaker true adjust the range in Hrz, frequency adjustable. That means you have roughly 3 ranges, bass speakers, mid range speaker and the tweeters. Wen you don't know what I am talking about, you better go to a good Hi-Fi forum and start reading, I think there's going a other world to be opened for you. Most receivers are more capable than most people imagine ;) I wish you luck, and it would be nice to hear from you. I got the Onkyo TX-NR5010 (2012) This is a monster and I think you can buy it for very cheap. My recommendation to you buy a good one, and you be happy for at least 10 years! A lot of power and for a 6 years "old" receiver a dream for every music and movie fanatic!
