This may be a silly question but do you really need to rebuild the brakes when you fix the axle seal? If the leaking oil is causing the brake to not work fixing the leak and some brake cleaner should fix the problem or no?
@flightofthecrowswing
@flightofthecrowswing 2 күн бұрын
That's a great question. The problem is that the oil penetrates into the shoes. In our research we saw one person that used a torch (very delicately) to evaporate the oil out of the brake shoes. The shoes are inexpensive and we were using our parents money so it was faster and easier to just replace the shoes.

Honestly, I don't know the part number. It was a rubber washer and It was part of the assembly on our tractor. After rewatching the videos linked in our description from Claremont Classic Garage, neither of their tractors had that rubber washer only the steel washer then the axle nut. I do not have the manuals with me to look it up either. Internet parts search on my end has shown nothing on any diagrams I have found. If you're tractor didn't have a rubber washer Behind the steel washer when you dismantled it, I'd guess you'd be ok to put it back as it was and see how that works. I'm no expert though so I'm only suggesting what I would do in your situation.

Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. The tumbler is a 32 ounce Ozark Trails travel mug. We did not use a hole saw, we did it the hard way and used a jig saw. We drew the hole to roughly the diameter of the mug where the flare begins at about 2/3 up on the wall of the mug.

It's a National Forest. You can get on their website and find their rules and regulations (ie: 21 day stay, use campsites that are already there, etc) but you are pretty much on your own to find a site. We usually just drive the forest roads until we find something suitable. Good luck on your trip.

So, what do you do with all that cable length laying on the ground out to the receiver head?
@flightofthecrowswing
@flightofthecrowswing Ай бұрын
It depends on where the Starlink dish needs to sit. At the site we are currently at, only about 12 feet of cable goes outside, that's running under our rug, and the dish is just on the edge of our outdoor rug. The rest of the cable is rolled up under the dinette. At another site, I've run it under the trailer to the back and mounted the SL on a pole on the back of the camper to keep the cable out of the way.
@Eradickaytor
@Eradickaytor Ай бұрын
So what do you do with the cable when you move? Seems to me a better way would be to put a weather proof USB Mini or CAT6 jack on the coach (whatever your starlink uses) and plug it in on the coach wall. Personally I would have used another spot on the coach Vs drilling a hole in the side. Like the cable or satellite ports where the city water connects.

@@flightofthecrowswing Laying where ever it lays when in a campsite isn't the issue. Where do you put it when you're traveling?? Roll it up and lash it to the ladder?
@flightofthecrowswing
@flightofthecrowswing Ай бұрын
When we move, it only takes a minute to remove the thru wall fitting, pull the line into the camper (it stores under the dinette bench) and replace the thru wall fitting to block the hole in the wall. Our Starlink is a gen 2 with some funky proprietary fittings on both ends. I'm no electrical engineer so I really didn't feel confident in changing out ends to a cat 6 or any other style.
