My family is Cape Verdean. I think that intentional creolization is a path forward for many societal ills.

If that were the case, racism would not exist in nations like Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Colombia - BUT RACISM STILL EXISTS. SO mixing is not the answer. White people need to turn against white supremacy for society to be equitable

If a diaspora community after few generations gets completely assimilated with the host country, is it possible such thing to happen?

Most migrants live in neighbouring countries...few (who have the means) make it to North America or Europe

Bringing in the concrete mechanisms, with some sociological erudition and solid empirical grounding. A typical Bielefeld sociologist, and that's a compliment! Great that Hein de Haas invited him.

Hi, interesting insight. I'd like to ask for any recommendations of peer reviewed readings on this "political animation". In particular relating to sentiments between diasporas and origin states such as trust issues or (seemingly) insolvable antagonisms that may exist.

This is an informative interview, as it forces us to think about the multi-dimensional nature of the diaspora, especially when it comes to their public policy implications for homelands.
