It’s difficult to know whether any of this was off the cuff. According to just about every guest who appeared, EVERYTHING was rehearsed for a week, down to n’th degree (except for the wonderful ‘Andy Preview’ sketch.) The secret is to make it look ad-lib.

Today it’s all politically correct, cynical and aggressive self righteous rhetoric from a biased political perspective and is in general mainly very predictable and not at all funny! There’s hardly any visual or observational humour any more. Just political point scoring!

Just clean fun and humorous. I watched the shows originally. Made me laugh then. Makes me laugh 50 years later. Sad that they are no longer with us as they had more talent in their little finger than some of the so called comics have in them.
