Can you specify with what type of usage you get 18-20hours of battery backup. Did you get the said backup with 4k or 1080p video editing. I am asking this, as I do programing, and TBH, I don't get that much of battery backup. Max 4-5hours with continuous IDE usage.

@@robustanybody5138While the M1 base variant is good for simple daily tasks, 8 GB of RAM isn't advisable in 2024 considering the requirements of most software, and you can't upgrade it. Trust me, I owned this Mac once, and I found external SSDs frustrating due to slower speeds compared to the internal SSD, plus you have to keep it connected most of the time. I'd advise going with at least the 512 GB configuration

I feel like we don't have to focus on long term investments too much on electronic products, since it's improves so quickly each year, and so does the software requirements. It is not something like furnitures that give you the same experience from the beginning till they break.
