I played for 10 years, coached, and ref-ed. You hire three extra refs per game, put on one video replay. First offense? Banned for 1 year. Second? Banned for life. That's it.

For dribbling drills do a game I call Colors. I will block off a small area maybe 10x10 or 12x12 and have give each kid a ball and will assign a color to a skill so push touch would be green, step over blue, purple pull back, red is to stop the ball with your sole a d yellow is a slow touch. I blow the whistle and we go through colors. It gets them used to finding there space with the ball dribbling with their heads up and dribbling in traffic. If a ball goes out of the area it's 5 toe touches. I will also challenge them individually and try to steal the ball adjusting the pressure based on skill.

Poor players!! They play for 10 seconds and have to stop for 50 seconds. I think it is too much intervention. Let's they play a while, 10 minutes, and after that make the coaching intervention.

Hello, My name is Aykut . I am a 19-year-old young coach and also a club R&D officer. I am from Turkey. I just came across this site. Can you leave me a number or a social media account so I can contact you? I need help. Maybe one day I can be one of the best coaches in the world. I can also share a few of my drill videos with you, maybe they will be inspirational. I don't have enough money to buy e-books. But I will take advantage of the free ones. If you want, you can send me your books. Best regards

The 3-5-2 is a very interesting formation. In today's game, you are going to need 3 center backs on the field, especially when playing stronger teams. It gives you great flexibility, allows you to spread and split the midfield, gives you multiple options to attack, and allows to position your defense correctly to minimize or to prevent fast counter-attacks. The 4-2-3-1 cannot compete against it when it is well employed. Many teams fail in the World Cup because they do not understand the passing game, the intelligent use of space, or how to build the attack. But I speak of 3-2-3-2 rather than 3-5-2 because 3-2=5. It believe in maintaining equilibrium (a balanced defense and a balanced attack) on the field; that is, not committing too many players upfront. If you have players of great quality and ability, you can mount a fast and successful attack with 3 players alone. A good game must players playing a fast and vertical game with marauding strikers and midfielders, full of endurance, hungry for the ball and for goals. A good game must have great players, who are experts (specialists) with unique talents, shooting from long distance, medium and short distance at low, mid, and higher height and from all horizontal angles. The 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 are also good formation but are too conservative for today's game. They do not give you the much needed flexibility in today's game. I believe in working with 4 zones, instead of 3 zones, on the field of play.

Hopping on the standing foot just before passing, especially when changing direction of the ball, makes the one touch pass a lot easier to do. One touch passing should also be practiced with the outside of the foot, but is harder to do.
@ethansewall16123 ай бұрын
Any one touch session should begin with foot control practice with the ankle held firmly in the dorsi - flexed position. It should be done at first in a sitting position, then standing. It should take 6 or 7 minutes, maybe shorter, or longer with younger players. You cannot make a reliable one touch pass with the inside of the foot without this foot control.

this is too basic, maybe this works as a base formation but this is not realistic. Playing against not well coached teams especially midfielders yes staying man marking would possibly work, but you are not considering that midfielders are taught to check in check out, check high, low, wide interchange with forwards or wingers which if any of this happens and you man mark creates passing lanes to strikers or wingers especially in half space which means back 3 cannot just deal with the 1 striker but also ask the question who goes with the player in the half space. Defending has levels asking 2 strikers to cover 60-75 yards wide pitch is not realistic they will get too tired that even with turn over they wont be able to function and attack (you are talking being super fit and no 2 strikers even fit can do that all game). I believe you should have proposed maybe 2-3 ideas on how to press and if the press gets broken who presses next and what is the reaction by everyone else because also dropping in has to do with angles and lines. You see midfielders pressing wide in this formation because again its all about filling, go watch hoffenheim under nagelsman, or even RB leipzig. The beauty of 352 is that when defending players can fill in for each other that is what makes it hard to break down in high press and even when its broken the recovery allows #s back quickly. I get the gist of this video maybe more so for beginners or to get an idea but defending principles change and you have to factor in when a player in this case gets tired like your striker, besides "dropping off" how else can one continue this press....

Ngl the whole thing of getting into the other manager's head im sure if hes teams won he dont care. Also the microphone i can understand it be legit annoying for the other team the player coach and ref tbh i think its dirty and rude. Love the channel but just thought i say my thoughts
@CoachJeffP6 ай бұрын
I'll try it, but I'm thinking I might keep numbers smaller to focus on quality defending technique. I like the necessity of keeping your head on a swivel, but not sure how game realistic that is either. This seems like it might be a bit too much unrealistic chaos, which doesn't allow the attackers to focus on quality 1v1 technique as well as defenders focusing on quality 1v1 attacking. Maybe sticking to only 2 defenders and as soon as one gets across the line or loses the ball, quick transition to the other.

The more fundamental question is, why did you start using them?
@gtjohns2207 ай бұрын
I stopped doing line drills for dribbling and passing about a year or so with my U12 team. I didn't feel that it replicated game situations. My team is a neighborhood rec league so the difference in skill levels is also vast. For dribbling I donated game called colors. I use half the pitch or less each player has a ball. I assign 2-3 dribbling skills a color and the players dribble around the space as I shout the color/skill to perform. They have to keep their heads up scan in order not to crash into other players and it helps get them comfortable looking for space. I will also pressure individual players according to their skill level. Another version I assign 1 or 2 chasers who don't have a ball and they have it steal and ball to free dribble. The player that losses their ball then becomes a chaser.

No such formation in football as a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1....Try telling that formation exists to the GK Coach on analysis day ....f f s ....ITs a.... 1-4-3-3 or 1-4-2-3-1 !!!!!!!! Try playing out from the back with NO player able to take a goal kick.

Too many interventions, have to let players explore by themselves
@jpg76168 ай бұрын
False. Research deliberate practice. Best way to develop is to attempt a skill followed by immediate expert feedback. Or you think that kids learning soccer will naturally figure all the body position, timing, etc out on their own? How long would that take them to come up with?? Plus it’s an edited video. You don’t know how many times they let them play through afterwards.
@stevenyuan83838 ай бұрын
sure, that would work in a country where the kids can play 8 hours a day during the summer, and 5 hours a day after school. no so much with countries where kids only have 1.5 hr practice three times a week max...
@arsenalogist4285Ай бұрын
@jpg7616 Mate, even at pro level; young players are still figuring these things out. What's the urgency with kids?
@jpg7616Ай бұрын
@@arsenalogist4285… I didn’t say there was urgency with kids. Where did you get that from? I’m just saying there are concepts that are impractical to find when “exploring by themselves” The coaching that you are mad about will accelerate learning and help them play better. I’ll say it again - look up the science of deliberate practice. People of any age get better faster with feedback from experts than just doing an activity.
