One of the sites I was watching said to peel off the coating on the seed, apparently I don’t always have to do that.

@janejdough2230 3 weeks ago (edited) Peptic Enzyme ( you can find it where wine making things are sold). Add 1 / 8 the teaspoon per quart and soak for 12 ish hours or overnight . Shake and rinse several times the pith will slough off easily. Preserve as directed.

... shoots out at the hip... Love. Nice work. I decided not to single stem this year. No beefsteaks toms here. Smaller and grape/cherry. So... letting them spread out and using string, like a weave, for extra support. Back garden has the larger toms with the cattle panels. Neighbors. I started caring for them this week and tying them up on the panels. Trying to save them and give good health. Nice job. Peace Pee tea 1:10 for a boost of Nitrogen. Aspirin regimen for boosting immune system 325 mg to a gallon of water. Tums for calcium. Go!

Yummy! Very good bread, thank you so much for the recipe and tutorial. My bread was a little deformed on both loaves but so delicious. I measured my pans and they were not quite 8”x4” so I think that might be the problem. I might experiment with a 9” x 5” next time. Thank you again😊

You will keep more rooting hormone on the stem if you use a pencil to make the hole before inserting the stem in the sand. If you just poke it straight in the sand a lot of the hormone rubs off (you can see this happen in your video). Also always make sure to use razor sharp scissors, or razor blade. You want as fine and crisp of a cut as you can get and not crush the stalk, which dull scissors will do. It's just better to use a razor blade overall. A crushed stalk will make it more difficult for it to take up water and the plant will concentrate on repairing the damage instead of rooting.

Have you tried making whey butter? There are references to it in Anglo-Saxon literature and it is still made by a handful of British dairy concerns. Whey can also be used to make ricotta and Norwegian brunost (brown cheese).
