I am in between the frontier2024- and Tacoma 2024- I love the Tacoma so freaking much the way it drives the looks but that 4 cylinder I don’t know about the Nissan I hate the way it drives looks good but the motor I trust. Now they are offering 8-10 g off the 24 Tacoma I just don’t know trd off road prem I’m looking at.

It took me a weekend with jackstands and on gravel but I’m old in my early 50’s. Absolutely love the RcKilla kit. Rides like glass. I opted for ADO’s upper control arms as well with the pressed ball joint. I always thought the Frontier’s sat low especially for the tire size it came with. As soon as I bought this truck I ordered this kit. Probably staying with this tire size but the wheel well looks to have the right amount of space for up travel now.

Thanks for this video. I was stoked on possibly buying the bilstein 6100, but yea messing with the lower control arms is going to be a pass for me. I just bought this truck and yea don't wanna mess with the warranty. I'll just wait and get the icon lift later. Thanks for the video though. 👏

Are there down sides to swapping in the Titan rear axle? Seems that would be better than spacers off-road.
@AlldogsOffroadCoop10 күн бұрын
you can but it requires modification to make the titan rear axle fit. all depends on your budget.

Do the Titans have the same wheel bolt pattern? Asking because of the limited wheel options for the Frontiers.
@AlldogsOffroadCoop7 күн бұрын
They do not
@JamesMcNamara-j1g10 күн бұрын
I might have missed something, but if the axle is hanging too low for the shock to bolt in, it would be too short at droop on a trail. Is he gonna add a limit strap to save his shocks?

the rear shocks on this truck were just guesses. we are working with Icon to find a correct length rear before we release the kit to the public.

I bought my 2019 S crew cab 2wd new in September of 19. I knew it was gonna be the last year for the 4.0 engine, manual windows and locks, and a keyed ignition switch. Did the All Dogs Offroad diff breather swap, added aftermarket wheels, Weathertech floor liners and vent visors...typical small mods that Frontiers get. It's been flawless for 5 years and 47,000. The original battery even lasted for almost 5 years 👌

Would be in for over $2000.00 in Canada installed. Deal breaker. Sold the frontier and buying used Tacoma which is the correct height from the factory. Nissan engineers are idiots.
@AlldogsOffroadCoop10 күн бұрын
nissan doesn't design their stuff with lift kits in mind. they design for what they deem to be acceptable. their design is bad for anything aftermarket but that's not their job.

For a 3rd gen Tacoma curious about using a 5125 over the 5160
@AlldogsOffroadCoop10 күн бұрын
a 5125 is a universal length shock that bilstein offers whereas the 5160 is a direct fit shock. all depends on the lengths you need for your build.

I have been rebuilding G13a & G16a engines for the last 7 years. The burn through between the cylinders says 2 things. i) it’s got very hot or ran very warm for a long time. ii) the head needs checking for flatness & probably a skim. Something I’ve found with these engines over time & age is that sometimes the head bolts themselves can stretch causing the head gasket to burn through. It can be a real pain the arse & it is a ‘while I’m in there, I might as well …’ skim the head & check the top of the block for flatness. Got burnt with that on my first 2 rebuilds.

Im looking at a 2015-2019 crew cab to replace my king cab with a better frame. I'd like to stay with a 6sp though i will do auto its been a very reliable truck with no break downs other than the starter slowly dieing on me but was able to replace easily and cheaply.

Just installed on my truck! I couldn't get the passenger side factory housing (23 SV) out without moving that big wiring loom out of the way. Driver's side was simple. Wish they were aimed a little more forward, but the beams are wide enough to still work great. I'd also replace the 3mm vertical adjustment screw with a thumb screw for getting things dialed in.

so you prefer 6112's, but you didn't mention why it suits your purposes. What are your purposes? rock crawling? high speed trail riding? mall speed bumps? working at an off road shop i am going to assume you like the more extreme side of off roading. maybe a detail that would help people.
