Security lending is not good for investor because borrower want everything to their power to low the price. So they can buyback cheaper however if security move 100% up then borrower will not give lender 100 % of this security. One of KZbinr explained to me and I refuse to believe lending is good for your stock or bonds as a investor. No one really understand until you dig dipper into terms and conditions for security lending.

Delta One, easy, just construct any synthetic, stock/future/rates examples long stock = long call + short put, short stock = short call + long put, synthetic call = long stock + long put, synthetic future = long underlying + short put (underlying), synthetic front month variance rate swap.... JK not gonna construct that here LOL.

Risk weights determines risk part in the exposure. (Hypothetical scenario) If entire exposure to a corporate is risky then risk weight assigned should be 100%. Can you please let me know why sometimes we risk weight assigned to be 125% or 150%.

Ah i found the risk... when someone borrows lets say 100$ in stock, they put up 102% collateral, 102$ cash... if they go bankrupt and cant repay, they give you 102$ cash, but your stocks u lost may be worth 500$ by then... the "protection" they keep touting is protection from net loss, not protection of your shares, u also lose voting rights and dividends on loaned shares... it honestly makes more sense to just sell calls if i plan on selling a win... im gonna pass on this mess

Excellent explanation, but you fail to point out the number one reason why..... Security lending is in place to facilitate short position by Hedge funds, Short Sellers, etc....who feel the price of the stock will drop like in the case of Gamestop!

Lend.. why not? Your stocks are secured, and if your holdings long you'll bank on them monthly
