Hi Shawn I hope you can help me. Where do you get the 8 groove pulley for the idler. Been to 3 parts stores no luck. If you have a part # that would be awesome. Thanks

Find a decent same year Cummins. Swap it all out and make sure ya get the nv4500 combo. Axles too. Wiring etc. it all swap out pretty easy. Did it myself in a matter of a couple weeks just in free time with some tools and no help other than my engine crane obviously.

My sole issue was a bushing that rod fell out of while doing the engine swap. It shifted fine at the lever but bc it wasn't aligned correctly in the little black bushing it caused the shifter to not be allowed all the way forward. 4500 for parts truck. 450 for gaskets. 500 in fluids. So around 5500 I'd say.

I want one so bad they’re not easy to find in Ohio unfortunately. And I don’t wanna buy anything out of state either. If I were to buy out of state it would be West Virginia and those trucks get beat just as bad as they do here.

I swapped a 24v Cummins in this truck recently. V10 parts are too hard to find and it's only getting worse. The LA Magnum Iron Block 8.0 V10 is at the end of its Era unfortunately. It was a good ride

@@shawnedwards2700 with the price of diesel fuel right now I desire either a V10 or a big block v8 for towing the camper. I understand why you swapped to a diesel tho.
@shawnedwards2700 Жыл бұрын
@@hilljackzack7284 I would have loved to build a good 5.9 V8 again but my transmission wouldn't have fit. Then the tcase wouldn't work either. It was so simple going diesel and it sounds so cool ngl. I used to get 12 or 13mpg with V10 pretty much no matter what but my 24v gets me 20mpg and I still can still make 500+ hp reliably. I paid pretty close to what diesel prices are around me for 93 octane which is what it was tuned for. I'm going to hang onto my V10 tho for many more years in hopes of finding a way to make it run fully carbureted🤫
@hilljackzack7284 Жыл бұрын
@@shawnedwards2700 I think there’s kits out there for a carbureted v10 dodge but don’t quote me on that. And yeah I kind of figured the 24 valve would get 20 plus (probably could get even more than that honestly I have a friend who gets 30 on his) and the only issue with the v8 is the lack of power it has.

I’m planning on doing a 3500 dually here soon, how long did it take you to do for swapping wires an also for changing gaskets?
@shawnedwards2700 Жыл бұрын
Wires weren't much work other than all the new harness ties needing replaced. Maybe a few hours but ive done many harness replacements before. Gaskets took 2 days. There was alot of cleaning involved. Replaced gasket for oil pan, valve cover, oil filter cooler housing(which was leaking the 2nd most), rear main round seal and housing seal, front main, timing cover, vaccum pump and seal (#1 worst leak in my case), tappet cover, thermostat housing, water and oil pump got new gaskets too.

The 8.0 litre V10 is the same engine that came in the first Gen Viper, but this one was detuend for commercial use. The V10 was replaced by the 6.4 liter Hemi engine in the late 2000s but there is a ram SRT-10 which has a 8.3 litre V10
