that tiny band is effectively changing nothing about the stimulus. just use a heavier kettlebell. using a band in this scenario doesn't even make any sense since it'll only be tensioned at the top, where you're not even producing force

Not sure if you will see this but I think you were talking about the throat guard and the pieces coming out, it would happen to me all the time. A quick solution is to go to you local hardware store buy longer screws and locking gel then you never have to worry about the throat guard detaching
