I hear tell Roy had a teal colored Strat that his daughter Debbie inexplicably painted black. I don't what became of it. The Lanham's were family friends. Roy was a trip.

How did you attached the voodoo lab power supply underneath this mono pedalboard? Did you used the screw or just the velcro?

I have had two cases so far replaced by Pelican. After emailing them and them reviewing the case they make you go through a small amount of things like drilling a hole and providing pics and writing your case number in metallic sharpie on the case. No problems at all. Customer service has been great. This has made me brand loyal. I own 15 cases from them and also use them for moving music gear. Sorry to hear you were treated like this. From my past experience Pelican have been nothing but great.

would have preferred you to played it straight without all the reverb and effects from the amp. then i could see the difference £30,000 or so made to the sound my les pauls make, which im sure are pretty much the same across the board.
@RiggsTaylor
@RiggsTaylor 17 күн бұрын
That’s fair! I generally approach demos the way I would play the guitar if I played it in a real life scenario - with a little reverb and overdrive. In future demos I’ll do a bit more clean playing across the pickups! You’ll dig next weeks ‘61 Les Paul Custom - I did just that 👍🏻

@kma86
@kma86 17 күн бұрын
@RiggsTaylor yeah that baffles me when it comes to Fender and even Gibson. Not trying to put them down, but when Suhr, Tyler, or even Tom Anderson can deliver great playability out of the gate, why can't the aforementioned brands offer the same considering they're charging for the same price, right?
@RiggsTaylor
@RiggsTaylor 17 күн бұрын
@@kma86 a lot of it is size and quality control - hard to scale for sure. Gibson style set-neck guitars are also more labor intensive to build, which means they’ll always be more than a comparable level Fender/Fender style guitar. That said, that’s one of the benefits of going boutique! I really like Frank Brothers and Giordano for set neck guitars, and obviously Suhr for a Fender alternative 🤘🏻

Joe Bonamassa, Jason Isbell, Slash, and most well know guitarists would beg to differ. This guitar is 1/4 the price of a Burst, with a lot of the same specs (extra pickup and no maple cap notwithstanding) That said, I know a ton of working class musicians that play vintage guitars - Tom Bukovac, Corey Congilio, etc. With the cost of living in Nashville, there aren’t a lot of people dropping $75k on an instrument if they can’t play it.

Love cornerstone and I have the V1 but $300 for another tube screamer seems steep.
@RiggsTaylor
@RiggsTaylor 25 күн бұрын
I see where you’re coming from - obviously you can get a TS808 cheaper, but knowing Cornerstone they use the best switches/parts/etc. AND you can customize the color/faceplate/knobs which equates to more cost. Since it’s basically a dual overdrive I think the price is competitive in that regard. Even a standard overdrive from bigger companies (Walrus Audio, JHS) is at least $200 🤷🏻‍♂️
@cornerstonegear
@cornerstonegear 24 күн бұрын
Yea I know it's not cheap, but as correctly Riggs says, you can actually see the new Antique like a dual-TS, a real 2 channel/2 pedals kind of TS. If you see it this way, 299$ is not that bad for two pedals that just take the space of only one pedal 😊
@continuum83
@continuum83 23 күн бұрын
You get three (!) pedals in one (overdrive, gain boost and volume boost) And it is not only a tube screamer clone but a great low to midgain overdrive that not only can sound like a tube screamer. Add a classy-timeless, confident and unique italian design (like a Vespa ;-)), clever switching system and…for most of us important, too: You save a lot of space on your pedalboard as it is like three single pedals :-D So "$300 for another tube screamer" doesn't sum it up correctly ;-)

Even the most rare sought-after transistors (NKT275) are still just $10/each on ebay. So to charge $1400 is hilarious
@RiggsTaylor
@RiggsTaylor Ай бұрын
I won’t go into detail because I’m not a builder, but I’ve had many conversations with various builders on the subject. Just because it’s an NKT275 doesn’t mean it’s any good - there are a few measurements you need within a decent range for a fuzz pedal. Then you need 2-3 per fuzz close in that range (depending on the circuit) to make it sound good. On top of all that, there are WAY more fake NKT275’s (and other popular transistors) than real ones. I have a friend that builds high end fuzzes (not Isle of Tone) that said for every 100 of a transistor you’re lucky to get 4-6 matched pairs. That said, I’ll let any builders chime in below!

A 60s Standard and their version of a 1959 Standard in the Satin finish, comes with Gibson pots and closely recreated PAF wound Humbucker s . Sometimes that does the trick! Depending on the amp, turning up the bass can muddy the low end and make the mids less present. The low mids (~400-700hz) help with adding more “meat” to the sound without losing clarity. All depends on the rig of course!
