Beautiful scenery, did you have any trouble with the altitude?
@OldGuyHikes16 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. Yes the altitude is tough. I just slow down, take more breaks, drink lots of water and make sure I am fueled with healthy snacks. I also avoid alcohol or any other substances that mess with my blood. I also ensure I acclimate by spending at least 24 hours in the area ahead of the hike, and in this case I did a hike the day before at a little lower elevation.

So true, I can't imagine hiking past some of the beautiful lakes I see in hiking videos and not taking time for a swim!

I know everyone hikes for different reasons. But I'm out for the beauty and to be in nature. A swim is always nice too!!! Thanks for your comment!

_Acclimating to high altitude is a significant challenge, but it's a testament to human endurance and the power of preparation. Watching these climbers ascend Chief Mountain, I'm reminded of the importance of perseverance and the incredible beauty that can be found at the summit. Thank you for sharing this incredible inspiration._

This looks like great beginner-friendly backpacking material! Which trail was this?
@OldGuyHikesАй бұрын
Yes I would agree, very beginner friendly. This is Indian Cave State Park near Shubert Nebraska. All the trailheads are numbered and I can't remember which trailhead this hike started at, maybe 6 or 7. But there are several miles of trails and lots of great camp sites, and they are all pretty beginner friendly. Thanks for watching!
