Nice! I like the ability to run red dots occluded. You can keep the dot dimmer and use up less battery, don't have to adjust the brightness as much or at all when transitioning to a brighter environment. And if someone is pointing a bright light at you, then you can still see the dot. Also acts as a killflash

I think the cover is so dumb. You have to remove the whole guard just to remove that cover. Wish it could just snap on the outside

Does not work if you have a calculated kinetics dogtag plate due to the front lip of the plate taking up the front of the optic

Imagine if there was a cleans that slides in, in the back to eliminate the dust and debris that finds its way into those open dots...... Now that would be something.

Here is my thought, you want to charge me 25 bucks for a rubber cover and a shield to block my sight through the sight, that a piece of tape can do??? Now if your cover helped enclose the red dot with a clear back, so dust and debris doesn't get on the inside lens, that would be worth the purchase. It would keep people from having to upgrade their dots to the new "Enclosed" dots.

How thick is the unit? Curious how much mass this will actually add to the optic overall, it didn't look like much in the video but hearing measured thickness would be super helpful.

Whats pretty cool is that if your front lens is cracked.. The plastic cover lens will provide a surface for the emitter to hit on. Hypothetically speaking.

Does this fit tight enough to keep the battery tray screw from falling out if it loosens? If so, that's a whole selling point.

I hope it does because I just bought one for my p365xl with the 507k. The battery tray and battery flew off for the 2nd time on my 507k even after using loctite. Never had that happen on any other Holosun optic but it happened twice in less than a month with my 507k. Sure enough I saw this in an ad later that week and ordered it just based off it covering the battery tray.

@@Pinheaddlarryy Yeah I haven't heard of many others having this issue but it happened to me twice on the 507k. I'm using Vibra-tite on the screw now instead of loctite. The OpticGard seems to work pretty well and should help prevent the battery and tray from flying into orbit if it does happen again. One thing I will say is the problem only happened when I was testing a lot of hot defensive ammo with rapid fire. Specifically Underwood ammo since this is one of my carry guns. So far the vibra-tite along with the OpticGard seems to have solved the issue.

@ I use purple loctite on robots at work to keep smaller screws from backing out because of vibration/heat. Is the optic guard any good? Been wanting one but worried it’s a bit bulky.

I just picked one up for the 507 Comp for the sole reason that it would provide some "cushion" on the front as to not destroy the convex glass when doing 1-handed mall ninja shit.
