Pretty sure this happened to my husband and I last night. I made homemade seafood chowder - got fish scraps for the fish stock, cod, scallops, canned clams, and canned smoked clams. Nothing smelled off and it tasted fine. I read about the “peppery” taste, well, I had pepper in the soup so it was missed. We each had a bowl for dinner, I went to bed, he went to his 3rd shift job. At 2am or so, I woke up with a hot flash and sweating. I thought it was just a lady problem, but I had a bit of nausea and felt like I was drinking a lot (which I didn’t). I just sipped some water, laid on my left side, and waited. I debated if I should force myself to throw up but decided to wait. It eventually went away and I went back to sleep. After my husband got home in the morning, he brought up the same symptoms around the same time. He was almost about to call the ambulance but it eventually lifted when he took a break. Our only conclusion was the chowder. Fortunately, our 4 year old was picky and didn’t touch it. Feel alright now. I just feel like my body is trying to get over something. But I have never had that happen before and I’m a big seafood lover.

Thank you for pointing out right up front that midazolam is a sedative or calming agent. Too many people infer that it is part of the anesthetic cocktail. Also, please state that midazolam MIGHT cause a patient to not make any new memories of a painful procedure. In my personal case, it has never done that. Perhaps I was not given a large enough dosage as you have stated, but an anesthesiologist told me a certain percentage of people do not get amnesia from this drug. As an aside, it is a pet peeve of mine that the medical profession thinks it is such a great thing that they can perform painful procedures on patients, are experienced in all their relative horror, but thinking it is such a great thing that they don’t remember it afterwards. Taken to an extreme, how would someone feel if they found them self being tortured for whatever reason but they’re torturers were compassionate enough to give them sufficient midazolam that they had no recollection of it? Would anyone be comfortable in that situation ? just a thought

just had this today hahaha i ate fish and literally like while i was still eating it felt my heart rate rise, becom emuch stronger, become nauseous so i had to stop... Then in for a 3 hour ride without being able to vomit or having diarrhea. Its really a poisoning it came in waves like you hear that its like in some knowingly induced psychedelic trips. i measured throughout my resting heart rate and at one point was like 125 or more and super nauseous. For reference i measured a week ago normally it was like 60. Also my heart was pounding hard i could feel it strongly even through my hoodie. Also i noticed higher inflammation and small pimples appearing on typical acne-spots (i got rid of my acne by reducing inflammation from diet some months ago) Now its a good 6 hours ago and it has awful a lot of similarity to a nootropic/medication i used, modafinil, which supposedly raises histamine. I feel rn to have a concentration and motivation boost haha. Like normally id never write this whole esay here in a youtube comment . Still nothing id want anyone to experience especially when you try to figure out wtf this is.

I was born with Asthma. I spent time in oxygen tents as a very young child. I've sporadically had exacerbations but my symptoms have been almost always been managed via a bronchodilator and steroidal inhaler ... apart from once when I had pneumonia ... which very nearly killed me 20 years ago. I'm 48 now, and my inhalers don't seem to at least recently, have the same effect. They have mentioned copd MAY be a factor. A very young nurse told me the latter is no worse than the former ... I think she's incorrect. Although so could I be ... I appreciate the profundity within which you approach these subjects and I appreciate you. People hear 'Asthma' in such a common, framework ... I feel to the layperson it can be played down. I'd be eager to hear how you regard the anxieties I've mentioned. Thankyou in advance.

When I have a sugar problem, I know its either very high or very low, I am not super sure which it is. Although I have always thought it was low blood sugar levels happening. I always need to eat protein to stop the "attack". So I eat eggs, and drink milk. The attack is scary. I seem to sweat, get shaky and am very very low low on energy. Eating 3 eggs with butter and a glass of milk always slows or completely stops the "crisis" I get in. I have been trying to get weight down, and went many days eating 1 meal a day, and sometimes missing even that one meal in a day. I thought that , well I am fasting and that should lower my A1C even more. It got up to 5.7 before I started lowering it by cutting out sodas first, then rice and other carbs like candy. So I recently I thought I was in the clear. After several days of very low food, like = 1 sandwich. I started eating popcorn and drinking semi-sweet tea. That's when I noticed a sickly weakening feeling strongly overcoming me, and I ran to the kitchen to make eggs. Eggs and milk did the trick, but I was exhausted by the sugar problem. It took a couple days to completely feel normal. I also started eating more meals a day. But still, am not sure if it is low or high sugar. Which one does hig protein help? High or low sugar (glucose) levels?

Just a two corrections - You don’t want a tourniquet on a joint you need to compress soft tissue to occlude the blood vessels. Anywhere a few centimeters above the bleeding is fine so long as it doesn’t restrict your access and your peripheral pulses are limited. - myocardial contusions can cause arrest it’s called commotio cordis I see you already got corrections on the posturing and the quick word slip with the NPA. Great video otherwise! Very well explained and succinct.

Hi, great video! I'm a paramedic in Massachusetts, our sepsis protocol includes an ETCO2 less than 25 mmHg. I would guess that if a patent is hypotensive and tachypneic then even if they're metabolically acidotic they would have a low ETCO2 due to poor circulation and rapid exhalation. Would my assumption be correct or am I missing something?
